Chichi was cutting some vegetables in the kitchen while Gohan was studying. Suddenly Chichi cried out “Ah!”

Gohan rushed over. “What happened mum?” He suddenly found his mum had tears all over her face. “Are you OK?”

Chichi wiped the tears off. “It’s Okay, it is just a cut on the finger. Listen. Why don’t you do your homework on your own? I need to go to bed and have a nap.”

“Sure mum. Don’t forget to look after your wound.”

“No problem baby. I will take care of myself.”

Chichi walked upstairs and shut the door behind her. She leaned over the doorframe and started to cry soundlessly. So that’s how it feels when you give your heart away. I love you Goku I always do. I could not make you happy so I let you go. Only Vegeta can. So please be happy for me and for yourself. I will be happy again and move on too. For you and for myself. Chichi clenched her fist.

Chapter 14 Chichi’s decision

Earth. Everything came back to normal.

Well, except Vegeta. Who was sitting outside Son’s house with Zarbon and Dodoria, waiting for Kakarotto to ‘have his business sorted out.’

Chapter 13 Earth is destroyed!!

Goku and Vegeta appeared abruptly on Earth. The soil smelt like smoke. The mountains had collapsed and the woods disappeared. It looked like a battle had already happened. Goku’s eyes widened in horror. Does that mean all my family and friends are dead?

He left Vegeta and dashed to mount Baozi, finding his little house collapsed. “Gohan! Chichi!” Goku shouted even as tears began to choke his voice, he could not believe this was the first sight of his home after so long. “Oh god. Gohan, Chichi, please answer me.”

Vegeta had followed his lover but now stood aside, watching Kakarotto searching for his family frantically. He never saw the always-happy young Saiyan so anguished and upset. His heart churned from the sadness coming from Kakarotto. But this was not the worst part. The worst part was he suddenly realized he was not the only important person to Kakarotto. His heart sank—he had a mate before. How am I going to face this?
“Arrrrhhhhh!!” Vegeta started at the angry shout from Kakarotto before quickly jumping to his location, finding Kakarotto hugging an immobile female, who clearly was already dead. “Chichi, ch………….” Kakarotto could not cry out a meaningful word. Vegeta carefully approached his lover and patted his back soothingly, trying to comfort his lover’s loss. The other Saiyan shook under his hand, which made his heart squeeze tighter.

Chapter 12 Guru’s advice

Guru watched the two Saiyans standing before him while Nail explained what was going on. He nodded in appreciation in the direction of Goku then spoke. “Thank you young Saiyan. It is rare to see people like you. Your heart is as pure as gold. We all owe you a big thank you.”

Goku smiled in return. “Thank you Guru. It is nice to meet you. I would be grateful if you could return our troops so that they can come home.”
“No problem. We owe you this.” With that he closed his eyes and waved his hand. When he opened his eyes again he said, “Your troops are among the main troops of yours now.”

Chapter 11 General Son’s Namek encounter

The next day, in Frieza’s chamber, Goku was waiting for an assignment. Frieza called him the first thing in the morning and said, “It is time for your official promotion.”

So now he stood in the middle of the room with his head low as Vegeta told him to do and waiting patiently for the tyrant to speak.

Frieza looked Kakarotto with interest. The young man had grown a lot over the last year. His body was more fit and brawny, his expression more confident. Replacing the innocent and clueless face was one more composed, determined and with more depth. It was difficult to see through him now. Vegeta and Sagi taught him well. “Well, well. You have made remarkable progress since you joined us, Kakarotto. I have to say I am surprisingly pleased.” He paused then started again. “At this rate your power level is going to surpass mine soon. And I like challenges. Hahahaha.” Frieza laughed insincerely. Goku carefully kept his head low, long spikes hiding his expression.

Chapter 10 Kakarotto’s celebration

Celebration carried on until midnight.

After several drinks Kakarotto felt a bit bored. He was normally a social person and he usually would not mind mingling, but today he had something else on his mind bothering him—Vegeta. He knew Vegeta valued strength and winning very much. He wondered what Vegeta’s reaction to his winning was. Was he proud of him or was he offended by the fact he was not the strongest Saiyan anymore? Did he hate him for being stronger than him? The most alarming thing was Vegeta had been nowhere to be seen since he had won.

Kakarotto dropped his current drink and started to look for Vegeta. After walking over half of the arena he found where Vegeta was—in a drinking competition with several other soldiers.

Chapter 9 Ship’s Buduokai

Sagi closed a massive book with a ’bang’. “All right! Have you remembered all the strengths and the weaknesses of the 53 transformable species?”
“Yes. No problem at all. They are all here.” Goku pointed at his head with a big grin for his achievement.

“Ts. I would be a fool to believe you. Last time I told you Mancaus were one of the transforming species yet you still got yourself into trouble.”
“Come on Sagi. You only mentioned it briefly. There are, how many – two duodecillion species in the universe, how could I remember them all?”
“But there are only 53 I wanted you to remember!” the wise man said with exasperation.

Chapter 8 Zarbon’s decision

Zarbon had not seen his little prey in a while. He heard that he was either in Sagi’s chamber or had gone out purging. He had never liked Sagi. Even if he had lost his power he still had influence on this ship; especially with Frieza. He might be able to match Sagi’s power, but he could never match his intelligence. Never mind. He was the one in power now and that meant he always got what he wanted.

However, when it came to confronting anyone in Sagi’s chamber things became a bit tricky. Sagi’s chamber was notoriously treacherous. After some daring soldiers had received severe injuries there nobody ventured going in anymore. Although he had problems with Sagi he did not want to destroy Frieza’s library – at least not for something as petty as prey. So as a good hunter Zarbon decided to wait outside Sagi’s chamber instead.
His patience paid out. Moments later Goku walked out, body sweaty and limp from some obviously intensive training. Zarbon moved into the hallway, pretending he was just passing by.

Chapter 7 Goku’s resolution

Vegeta woke up hearing Raditz and Nappa’s laughing. He raised his head realizing he was sleeping in the common soldiers chamber. Once he raised his head, the laughter stopped. The duo tried to pretend they were busy and did not notice Vegeta’s existence. He felt over the bed and found his lover was not there, although his scent lingered around him. Hn, I wonder where Kakarotto is now. Remembering his not so gentle treatment to his lover last night, Vegeta felt some regret. It’s all Kakarotto’s fault. He is too enticing for his own good. He must be hiding somewhere sulking for having lost his virginity to his prince. Vegeta grinned at the thought he had been Kakarotto’s first. He waited until Raditz and Nappa left then got dressed and went to do some training, with happy on his mind.

Chapter 6 Vegeta’s maze

After the purge Vegeta was not happy. He could not explain his sudden weakness caused by the young Saiyan. Suddenly stopped defense in the middle of battle, feh, never heard of. I knew to like him would make me weak. I’d better be careful around him. It is not worth to ruining my plan for him. However, the more honest Vegeta was with himself, the more he realized he wanted to be with the younger Saiyan. It was just like drugs-- the more you tell yourself to keep away, the more you wanted to try it out. He is so beautiful. The best Saiyan I would ever have. Maybe a one night stand with him would not be such a bad idea. Vegeta knew he was lying to himself. After one night, he would want more. He would be jealous of anybody who wanted to touch his Saiyan. He would be distracted; eventually he could be ruined by him.

Chapter 5 The purge.

Son Goku had taken part in several purges. He felt lucky that none of these purges had involved killing innocent people. So far they had only destroyed rebels or ruling dictators and then handed the planet together with its residents over to Frieza. His power level increased every time. As he was able to read ki, he knew he was already stronger than his brother, who still thought of him as his ‘baby’ brother who needed protection. He could hide his ki as well, not using it excessively until necessary. Sagi’s teaching had been a great help and he had improved significantly.

Today’s mission was a bit tricky, though. Frieza had ordered total destruction of the populace. Son Goku was a bit wary. He didn’t know what he would do when he got there. I’ll just have to play it by ear. He sighed.

Chapter 4 Sagi’s chamber
When the night was over, all of the Saiyans were comfortably drunk. Vegeta did not bother to question what Kakarotto was talking about with Sagi and everybody went bed.

Early in the morning, Goku woke up in excitement and anticipation. He quickly got cleaned and dressed, then walked to Sagi’s chamber. With the directions Sagi gave him, he quickly arrived in front of an iron door. The door was huge compared to other chambers, with iron studs on the surface. Looks like something needs to be protected there. Goku thought.
The door suddenly swung open. Sagi’s voice came from inside. “Come in.”
Goku stepped inside and saw a huge room full of books. The room was shaped like a bullet head; round but converging to a point in the ceiling. At that spot a huge light hung down. Books were piled up everywhere, on the ground, on the table, formed into columns; some of the stacks were taller than him. Walking through the jungle of the books, he could not find Sagi anywhere. “Sagi?” He asked. Sagi’s voice rose again.

Chapter 3 Back to Frieza’ship
The second day the Saiyans set off on the return journey to Frieza’s main ship. Goku waved a sad goodbye to his new pet. Bibi shed a lot of sticky fluid, but Goku was not sure if it were the equivalent of tears or something else. Still, it was apparent Bibi was not happy his new friend was leaving so soon. Goku turned around and said, “Wasn’t he adorable?” Vegeta exchanged a look of disbelief with Raditz, thinking the younger Saiyan must have hit his head somewhere. He was surprised his patience for the young man went far enough he hadn’t blast the monster to ashes. Normally he would not let a chance for any possible disgrace continue. However he had to admit he rather like the innocent face of this new subject of his. He did not want to ruin that yet, not on such a trivial thing. He would rather leave that to more serious adventure he had planned for the young man. Saving such actions for the future would only increase the fun. Vegeta smirked.

A huge boom indicated the arrival of the Saiyans on a foreign planet. The door hissed open after they landed. The younger Saiyan hopped out of the ship in excitement, then stretched out in satisfaction. A longhaired Saiyan crawled out following him.
