Wizard World LA 2005
This past weekend was Wizard World LA, and I attended for one day-- which I spent mostly with David Mack. I have a bunch of pictures, plus videos! Which you can see at www.davidmackguide.com --->
http://www.davidmackguide.com/news/2005/03/21.shtml

Me and Mack! Yes, I was wearing the scars again ^_^

And if you guys haven't realized yet, David knows about this community. He told me so himself :) He actually posted a reply at the last post-- yes, that's really him! :D So don't be surprised if he starts answering your questions here.

Let's be more active and show our support!

~Dawn

Hi Dawn,

Thanks for posting and for the pictures. I didn't realize David knew about this community. Very exciting. :)

I have talked to David a few times at Heroes Con in Charlotte. David couldn't be cooler or nicer. I will be at Heroes Con again this year--can't wait!

I also started reading Kabuki: The Alchemy. It's meant a lot to me these past several months, as a source of insight and positive energy. I left an emotionally draining job (my first out of school) and have since been trying to identify and go after what I really want to do. Some days go better than others, but Kubuki has helped keeping me motivated. I've read the first three issues many times, and always come away noticing some other details, or new perspectives. It's amazing.

All of that being said, I plan to go back and catch up on the other Kabuki volumes as well. :)

I know what you mean, the books are also a constant inspiration for me. :] It always feel like I'm reading the books like I've never read them before because there's always something new to look at.

I can't wait to see where the Alchemy goes!

Those are excellent. David, any plans to attend Emerald City Comicon in Seattle next year? I missed you at Dragon*Con 2003, apparently, and nearly kicked myself. I've been meaning to meet you and say hello. I'm so proud to be birthday twins. Your work's terrific.

Wow. When I created the community I never dreamed he'd come over here. It was just a place to talk to others about the comic. That's totally awesome.

And the pictures are fantastic. I love your scars. They look amazingly real.

New around these parts and had to ask about the scars- did you create them? Or did someone else help you? Either way- they look awesome ^_^

Yep-- it's done with liquid latex make-up, and just painting it with make-up enough to have it look 'natural' :D

Thanks for the compliment!

So you didn't really scar your face, right, it's just makeup...
