About| Just Six Words |
This community is spun off of another community called ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} sixwordstories. The moderator there read a story on Wired one day that was all about some of the most brilliant and fascinating people telling stories of their lives, some of them ordinary and some of them much more profound, in only six simple words. He decided to create a LiveJournal community to encourage and inspire others to do the same. But as these things often do, it turned into something different entirely. Something unexpected, to say the least.The stories, they were still six words. But as your average meme does, once the community hit fandom, it spread like wildfire and exploded with RP character participation. This was something the moderator hadn't intended, and which some members vocalized in a less than respectful manner. As of right now, the community is said to be being handed over to new, more fandom-friendly management. However, until the new changes are in effect, some people have been made to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable there after the way this was handled. If you have been enjoying yourself and your muses over at sixwordstories and would like to continue to post without being judged or mocked or made to feel as though you are in the wrong or have ruined someone's concept simply by writing, you are more than welcome to continue on over here. Fandom and RL are both welcome, so please feel free to post anything you'd like.Of course, rules are a necessary, but I will actually clarify them so there will be no vagueness. J • Stories must still be six words only, hence the title, and the original idea. Brevity is something all good writers could use an exercise in. • Comments can be six words if you’d like to challenge yourself and see how long you can keep a thread going of just six word replies. But sometimes the stories that get posted are of heavier things. And the replies, we or our muses, feel require more than just six words and that’s okay. • You may have more than one story in your entry, if you'd like to tie a few of yours together. However, they must all still be six words each, separated by a break, and there may be no more than 3-5 six word stories per entry. This is to keep from deviating too far from the format. • RP is allowed if you choose. I know that there are plenty of RP communities, and muse communities, and one-on-ones, and places for you to RP. But so what? I don’t feel that you RPing in the comments detracts from the power of the original six word statement in the post. • There can be a million and one versions of any given character, but only a million and one. ;) I’m kidding. There can be as many versions of any given character as there exist within the fandom community. I only ask that you please not use doppelgangers to start drama. Ex. If Angel from Angel the Series makes a post and Cordelia replies, please don’t use your Cordelia to reply to him in a snarky manner to undermine the other Cordelia. I know we’re not all going to get along, and we have our established RP partners. But let’s just try to be respectful and make the most of the multiple versions situation so that everyone can play. • NC-17 gets taken to your character’s journal. We have muses and writers of varying ages, so please try to keep it R. • ENJOY YOURSELVES! This has been such a fun experience for me so far, I’ve enjoyed having so many of my muses meet so many of yours, I’ve loved reading what some people can say with only six words.
