pixidrizzl@yahoo.com AboutI hope this becomes a place LJ users can come to talk about their Jack Russells or just learn about JRTs in general. You don't have to have one to be part of this group. You don't have to have a full blooded JRT to post, either. Mixed JRTs are always welcome.

The community is getting awful big for it's pants so to keep a modicum of order around her I'm going to implement a system of "Three Strikes You're Out". Sounds fun, right?
A member will be given a warning when I feel they are being unreasonable to another member whether it be hate speech, name calling, or just flat out being condescending for the sake of striking out at someone you don't agree with.
There will be plenty of room for a member to challenge any strike against them - I'm pretty reasonable and I will listen to both sides. After the third strike has been issued and it's found to be a reasonable complaint than the member will be banned from the community. I need any member that feels they are being attacked to contact me directly and not delete their post. You can make it private temporarily until I'm able to look at it but I need to be able to see every comment that took place in order to make a fair and unbiased decision.
Again, let me reaffirm - I'm not going to censor topics or opinions but I will give a warning for a comment I find to be condescending, hateful, or inappropriate. I realize certain topics bring out a fair amount of passion in people but we are all adults and we need to handle ourselves in a civil manner to make this community work how it's supposed to. A comment maybe 100% factually right but if it's hateful or ignorant it'll earn a strike against the commenter.
I've been corresponding with a member of the group about this very issue and I know there are certain things like over breeding and puppy mills that bring out the fight in us. The problem is that these issues will not go away by ignoring the problem or pretending like it's only bad people who do these things because the truth of the matter is....some people just don't know any better. The only way they are ever going to know any different is if someone brings it to their attention in a reasonable matter that is going to make them listen as opposed to just shutting down and getting defensive. I'm not naive enough to believe you can change everyone but even if you change one person that's a lot of puppies you've saved.
That being said I will not be censoring any posts to that effect. Issues need to be addressed before they can be solved.
I've said this before and I'll say it again. If you have ANY suggestions on how to make this community better please, please, please contact me. I'm even open to adding a co-moderator because two heads are better than one.
