Places to upload files (tabs or songs) include:

RULES AND CONDITIONS:
1.) Put all guitar and bass tablatures and any sheet music behind a cut. Piano/orchestral versions of songs are allowed. Tabs don't have to be complete before you post them. In fact, this is a place you can come to get help if you get stuck with a tab, so don't be afraid to ask!
2.) When posting a .txt tab, please put it between < PRE > and < /PRE >.
3.) Please clearly state the name of the artist/songwriter and song of each tab. Don't forget to credit the tabber also, if you did not tab out the song.
4.) You may request tablatures, but please check the community directory before requesting, and see the section below for further guidelines.
5.) Of course, you may discuss J-ROCK/POP/scores, J-ROCK/POP artists/composers, and guitar/bass playing in general. ^^
6.) You may advertise other communities, but don't go crazy with it.
7.) Treat the other members of the community with respect. There's a difference between debating what brand or model of guitar is 'best' for a beginner, and bashing someone because of their request or tab. No bashing!
8.) Tabbing takes a lot of time. Please remember to thank the tabbers if you download a tab they post!

MAKING REQUESTS:
CHECK THE DIRECTORY/TAGS LIST before you request a tab. Sometimes, we'll already have it uploaded.

When making requests, please follow all of these rules:
1.) Put the word 'Request' in your subject line.
2.) Be sure to clearly state the name of both the song and the artist in your post.
3.) Be as specific as possible! If you're looking for "anything" from a certain artist, that's fine, but please name a few songs that you're especially looking for. If you're only looking for .gp5, .gp4 or .txt files, specify which one. The same goes for a particular instrumental part (guitar, bass, piano, etc.).
4.) INCLUDE SOME SIGN OF EFFORT WITH YOUR REQUEST. For some reason, people have problems with this.

WHAT THIS INCLUDES: Pick ONE (or more, if you think it will be helpful) of the following, and include it in your post:
= an .mp3 (or other common sound file) of the song you're looking for, uploaded to mediafire/sendspace/yousendit/other-hosting-site.
= the key/time signature of the song (your best guess)
= a chunk of notes you've figured out
= a tab/partial tab for a different song (one not already in the directory/uploaded recently - if you have a different version, that's allowed)

You do not need to include ALL of the above; just one is fine.

WHAT DOESN'T COUNT:
= YouTube (or Veoh, Crunchyroll, or similar site) links to the PV, a live version or a cover. You can include these in the post, as they could be helpful, but there should be something else as well. This is because it takes a few seconds to look up a video on Youtube, while it takes much longer to tab out a song - doing a little bit of work won't hurt you.
= Saying "sry no bribes" or "if you want the song, email me" will not work.
= Saying "I can't upload the song" will not work either. Uploading the song is NOT your only option.

The only people exempt from this rule are people who are already active tabbers in the community. If you've posted a tab (partial or complete) or have been otherwise active in a non-requesting sense, in the last couple of months, you do not HAVE to include anything extra, though you may want to anyways.

5) Please refrain from posting new requests more than twice a week. Add to an earlier post if you think of a new song you're looking for, but do not spam.

Requests that do not adhere to the guidelines above will be deleted. A post with no attempt to follow the rules (ESPECIALLY #4) will be deleted when the mod sees it, while the mod is more likely to give someone who has linked to a YouTube video (or added something, at least) a couple of hours to edit their post. If your post is deleted, you're welcome to re-post it, provided to follow the rules.

USING TAGS:
We are using the tags system now, but you don't have to tag your posts (someone else can do it for you). If you'd like to, however, here's how they're broken down:

*band ads - for... band ads. Bands looking for people, or people looking for a band.
*band scores - for scans of bandscores, or .zips/.rars of fully tabbed albums
*covers: audio - for .mp3 (or other audio only file) covers of Jrock songs by community members
*covers: video - the same as above, but for video links, either online at sites like YouTube, or downloadable
*re: guitar pro - for questions about Guitar Pro. How to get a certain effect, what a particular warning message means, whether or not you need to upgrade...
misc: - for requests and tabs involving non-Jrock/pop artists. If you're requesting a song from an anime, you can tag it as misc: neon genesis evangelion, or whatever the name may be. In the case of series, just tag it as the basic name (misc: gundam as opposed to 'misc: mobile suit gundam').

For posting a tab (partial or complete), use these two tags:
artist: [artist's name] and song: [song name]

For posting a request, use this tag:
request: [artist's name]

DO NOT tag by artist and song name UNLESS you are sharing a tab as well (i.e. if you've tried tabbing the song, but need help), or someone has answered your request in the comments of your post.

Currently, members of the community can add existing tags to their posts, but not create new ones. Don't worry if you're posting something completely new (yay!); a mod will tag the post for you. :) For more details about tagging, go here, and see the full list of tags here!
