Describe or Interpret or Credit your Layout: Since I'm not very strong with CSS (especially when it comes to coding layouts) I 'stole' the CSS and base of my layout from appleleaf. Record Player layout. It said that if I didn't use the default banner, I didn't have to credit them on my layout.

I went through about five different layout/banner/color schemes before I found one that I liked. Most of them didn't go very well together and some just didn't have the feel I was looking for, which is a dream-like feel. With my current layout, I think I have achieved that.

Is it compatiable with other browsers?: Should be. I don't use anything other than Firefox, so I don't know for sure.

Why do you want to be a part of this community: I wanted to seem some of the other cool and creative layouts around this website and I wanted to learn a little bit more about CSS/coding and web layouts in general. :)

Describe or Interpret or Credit your Layout:My layout is based on my name Masquerade. I used Adobe Photoshop to create my graphics. I have my own personal background that I designed my self. I have also added my own header image. The colour scheme of my journal was chosen to match my header and background images. I have added some custom features to the component layout. There are two extra search components - one for Google, one for Livejournal. There is a random quotes component, with some of my favourite tv/movie quotes. I changed my mood icons to pictures of SMG from Buffy (my favourite show). Finally I have added a component to show my favourite albums and the ones I mostly listen to.
Is it compatible with other browsers?:I know that it can be seen in Internet Explorer, Safari and Mozilla, not sure about others.
Why do you want to be a part of this community:I like changing my layouts on a regular basis, so I would like to have other people's opinions on whether they are good are not.

P.S. I wasn't sure if I was allowed to apply, because I use the Component Layout. I know it says don't bother to apply if you use a default layout - but I thought as I have added and changed a lot of the original layout, it was still okay for me to apply.

White text on a black background down the centre of the screen, with a picture of four red-eyed green tree frogs on a branch behind it. I built from a basic layout, but customised it for myself. Incidentally, all of my userpics were made by me, so if that counts for anything...
Is it compatiable with other browsers?: I think so, yes. No one I know has run into any issues with it.

Describe or Interpret or Credit your Layout: Well while searching for a new desktop I came across the orginal image of the shark and bubbles as a desktop, and I thought it was the most amazing thing. I was bored of all those picture/header layouts and wanted something fun and bright, so I took the orginal image, did my magic, and made this layout.
Is it compatiable with other browsers?: Mozilla and IE, I believe.
Why do you want to be a part of this community: I'm on a rating binge, I love being part of communitie s because I draw inspiration from everyone else's little things in their layouts, plus I love getting and giving critism.

Ok!! I'm starting a brand-new layout rating community. This one has a twist though. After you are an accepted member, you still have to re-apply every NEW layout you make. After three rejected layouts, you have to re-apply to be a voting member. People with the most accepted layouts are higher on the member's list, ect. I think this should encourage activity and honest feedback everytime you create a new layout.

No more auto accepts. We officially have four stamped members, including me. :P

I also have one or two mod positions available. It would involve stamping sometimes, taking screenshots sometimes, I say sometimes because I plan on being extremely involved with the community myself. A little help would be nice though if someone wants to play with me. :)

I would appreciate it if someone could read over the userinfo and see if I hit all the crucial areas too.

I would like some feedback on the layout of the community also. If there's anything I could do to improve it, if it's ok enough to be a layout rating community's layout. Eh :/ I tried. :)

at a friend's summer home in Canada, and since he didn't have the internet I just used renders
from his computer. At first I was just alleviating my boredom but then it actually started to look good(IMO).So when I got home he sent me the file and I coded the layout. I really like the colors, and they remind of of an "it's a boy" sign, lol.Hm, what else. Images were from kh2.co.uk(at least most). Overall, it could use some improvement and I can already see a few errors. But I'll let you do the critique ;D

Why do you want to be a part of this community: I would like to receive criticism on my layouts and help others with theirs.

NEW LAYOUT. It's still under some minor-ish construction. And it's exactly how I want it to be. Except for those damn comment links. Tricky little suckers. They're currently rather blah and boring, because I don't know what else to do with them. Suggestions (especially about the comment links and also about the layout as a whole)? I'd love to hear some feedback.

Works in Mozilla and IE (and quite possibly Opera; emphasis on possibly) and looks best in 1024x768+.

Describe or Interpret or Credit your Layout: It's pretty simple, which I like... my last layout was too cluttered, my eyes kinda wanted to explode. All of the graphics are just by me. Everyone always gets confused by my username and comment links, haha, but it's from a song by the Goo Goo Dolls called We Are The Normal that I really like, all the lyrics in the header are from it.
Is it compatiable with other browsers?: FF and Safari... IE does some weird stuff, which doesn't seem uncommon in the layout world
Why do you want to be a part of this community: I like making layouts a lot, and I love seeing other peoples', it's so cool how Livejournals have sort of become a work of art. And I spend a lot of time on my layouts, like I'm sure everybody does, but it'd be nice to have other people get to see mine and have all the work pay off for someone other than me to enjoy :]

Describe or Interpret or Credit your Layout: It's from an anime series, Bleach, which is my obsession at the moment. It's rather simple since graphics bigger than 100x100 pixels are not exactly my strength and I don't want a layout overcrowded by brushes and all. I've got bits and pieces of coding from everything_lj and brush from Miss M.
Is it compatiable with other browsers?: Works better with Mozilla since that's my main browser but it's viewable in IE.
Why do you want to be a part of this community: I'd love critique for the layout, whether it's good or bad. ^^; And hopefully help and inspire me improve my graphic skills.
