Thank you so much for participating in the annual JoNoWriMo+1.5 challenge! This year was lots of fun and it was a real treat of inspiration to watch everyone progress. Thank you so much for participating.

We made it to December 1! Hooray! So far, many of you have already checked in and reached your goals. Yay! Others have had unexpected life stuff hit and you've had to re-think some goals. That's fine too! The important thing is that you established as much of a writing routine as you could, and hopefully have more to show than you would have had you not taken the JoNo challenge.

We've got 2 weeks to go so I'd say we are definitely in our final stretch! How are you all doing?? I don't know about you but around this time I start to really dig in. I love knowing I'm working with all of you, getting closer to reaching a big goal. :-) There are lots of early DONE'S already which is very exciting. If you're not there yet, no worries! There's still plenty of time. Our next check-in will be in ONE WEEK on November 24.

...I'm going offline from now until the end of the month, unless I break down and cheat :-)

Here is my check-in:

In brief, I am faced with an outbreak of chicken pox among my kids.  They will be home from school/childcare, individually and collectively, possibly for up to a month, which is going to seriously make it hard for me to work. 

I'm in a position where I think I would have met my goal if everything had gone according to plan, but this is a big setback.  However, I'm not dropping out or changing my goal.  I'm still going to take a shot at it.  I'll give it everything I've got in whatever time I can scrounge--and I do mean scrounge.

This will mean no internet.  Please know that I'll be cheering you all on in my mind, though, and I hope EVERYBODY either meets their goal or at least gets further than they would have without this group.  Thanks so much for your support, everybody, and good luck between now and the final check-in.

I know, JoNo, that you're thinking that I haven't QUITE finished with you yet. And you're right. I've sent off the two short stories, sent Substance to the Mystery Agent, and finished the draft of Hulk Hercules. BUT you are correct. This weekend, I will interview semi-pro wrestlers in Chicago, and next week, I will work their relevant responses into the manuscript.

Only THEN will I truly be ready to send the manuscript to Cat's Curious, thus completing my JoNo journey.

I know I've been talking about trying to get a story around to submit to the Interfictions 2 anthology, JoNo, but that's extra, okay. So don't look at me scary like. Pretty please?

Hope you are all doing well. I think I'm going to make it without JoNo coming to get me!

Add me to the number of those having a dental experience. Progress has been veeeerrrryyyy slow, due to family matters and paying work. But there has been some progress. I'm just about out of section 3 of The Grove and have been sketching on the Plot Bunny that clobbered me last week when my back was turned.

Jono, could I please have more time (as in hours in a day), sir?

Hulk Hercules: Professional Wrestler is done.

My next week will be spent editing HH:PW and Jackal's First Hunt. Next weekend I go to Chicago to interview wrestlers, so there will be some tweaking of HH:PW once that is done, and then it goes off to Cat's Curious Press.

Srsly (tm). Revisions really are like a soap opera. Lo, the drama! I've been super scarce around here because I've been hard at work battling my own book-hate demons. I think I've finally gotten a grip on just what "revisions" means and have adjusted my perspective accordingly. Phew! Today, I'm in a state of book-love and am hoping to stay there for a long, long time.

Congratulations to those who have already met their goals -- you guys are the tops!

Those of you pushing steadily ahead, keep up the great work!

For those of you struggling, like me, just keep doing your best, whatever that may be in any given moment. I think that's all scary-Jono-man is really asking. :)

It's like pulling teeth lately, with our schedules lately, but I've written 7K, plus outline and synopsis.

I hope to get to 20K by the next check-in.

And I'm SO impressed by those who are finished already. Whoohoo1

Hello, JoNo! I haven't checked in for a bit, so I thought I should.

The first draft of Jackal's First Hunt is finished.

The second draft of Hulk Hercules: Professional Wrestler is ALMOST finished. Four more scenes!

I think I can get HH:PW done during my next writing session. That will be the last of my original JoNo goals.

I may well try to hammer out another short story for Interfictions 2 if I can make it work. However, it's not an official JoNo goal. I don't want JoNo to misunderstand my intentions.
