Jodie Foster devastated after being dumped by lesbian lover By Phil Boucher Last updated at 10:17 AM on 12th September 2009 Jodie Foster has been reportedly dumped by her lesbian partner. Cindy Mort apparently left the double Oscar winner and walked out of the couple’s LA home following a series of heated rows - and reignited her romance with ex-girlfriend Amanda Demme. Ms Mort previously left her former lover to be with the actress. Over: Jodie Foster (L) is said to have been dumped by her lesbian partner Cindy Mort, seen here together in happier times last December She is a writer/producer and met Foster on the set of the film, The Brave One, in 2006. The 46-year-old actress was, according to reports in U.S. magazine the National Enquirer, devastated after the 34-year-old left her. Sources close to Foster have revealed that she is miserable from her split. It could mean an uncomfortable return to the spotlight for the famously reclusive actress. Jodie with her previous partner Cydney Bernard, who she split with last year Miss Foster remained tight-lipped about her sexuality for decades and still refused to employ household staff for fear that they would leak details of her home life to the media. Miss Foster is also known to avoid using the phone and was only recently encouraged to own a mobile. The actress - whose received two Best Actress Oscars for her role as a rape victim in the 1989 film The Accused and as a FBI trainee in the 1991 smash hit The Silence of the Lambs - was brought up in a lesbian family. Her mother, film producer Brandy Almond, and her father, retired air force colonel Lucius Foster, broke up before her birth and her mother later lived with another woman. The latest split comes just two years after the very private Miss Foster, 46, openly acknowledged her long-time partnership with film producer Miss Cydney Bernard. The couple had two children together - Kit, six, and Charlie, nine – who Miss Foster conceived through IVF. Miss Bernard, 54, was present throughout both labours later adopted the boys to complete the family unit. While they were not known to have officially formed a civil partnership, the couple openly sported matching Tiffany eternity rings on their wedding fingers. Their 15-year relationship became public knowledge when the actress accepted an award in December 2007 and referred to Miss Bernard as 'my beautiful Cydney, who sticks with me through the rotten and the bliss.' However the couple then split last year. Jodie, seen here in the 1991 film The Silence of the Lambs as FBI trainee Clarice Starling, for which she won a best actress Oscar At the age of 14, Miss Foster found early stardom playing a child prostitute opposite Robert De Niro in the 1976 drama Taxi Driver. That role was to have devastating consequences years later when obsessed fan John Hinckley attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan in 1981 - he claimed he had planned the killing to impress her. Miss Foster has remained terrified of stalkers ever since, according to her friends. Last night, the actress's publicist was unavailable for comment on the alleged break-up.

Kristen Stewart Loves Jodie Foster. No, Not In That Way Thursday, August 27, 2009 9:17 AM Kristen says working with Jodie in “Panic Room” was a big influence on her acting. That little girl in “Panic Room” was Kristen Stewart? I feel so old. Kristen Stewart has revealed that starring alongside Jodie Foster in 2002's Panic Room helped "shape" her."It was my experience watching her and I think it shaped me. It put the first ideas in my head, like that's the way, I mean, she's not the kind of person to sit there and give off advice, but she's been a good, strong influence."Foster has had such an amazing career and we can't think of anyone better for Twilight star KStew to look up to as a role model in the entertainment industry.

Jodie Foster steps in SJP's shoes (UKPA) – 6 days ago Jodie Foster found herself in Sarah Jessica Parker's shoes in new comedy Motherhood. The Oscar-winning actress has a cameo in the movie - directed by Katherine Dieckmann and starring Uma Thurman - which was inspired by Katherine seeing the Sex And The City star hounded by paparazzi while trying to spend time with her six-year-old son at a New York City playground. Dieckmann explained to E! Online: "I would go to that playground all the time and poor Sarah Jessica Parker would come with her son and she would be harassed!" She continued: "She literally could not push her kid on the swing set without a picture being taken. I just saw a picture of pregnant Heidi Klum at that park. They come here and stalk people." Dieckmann also explained that Uma's co-star Minnie Driver - who was pregnant at the time of filming -also had a tough time from the paps. She explained: "One day, Minnie was queasy, it was hot out and these guys would not leave her alone. She was so hormonal and started screaming at them and then they starting snapping her. "I stepped between her and the paparazzi and go, 'She's pregnant!... Like f*****g be a human being for one second. They all left except for one guy, who was like, 'I just have to get my shot, man!' "We actually let him be in that scene with Foster to leave Uma and Minnie alone." Copyright © 2009 The Press Association. Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster are working on The Beaver movie – it's not what you think! The first thought that comes to mind when one sees the film title The Beaver, is “oh no, they’re not making yet another old tv show into a film, are they?” But to everyone’s surprise, The Beaver has nothing to do with “the beav”. The movie is about a man who “wears a beaver puppet on his hand that he treats as a real person. Those familiar with the script have compared it to “Lars and the Real Girl” and the work of Charlie Kaufman” says the Hollywood Reporter. Jodie foster is directing and co-star as the beaver-handed Mel Gibson’s wife. The script was at the top of last year’s “black list” of unproduced screenplays that should have been been made into a feature film due to the creativity of the writing.
An interesting fact is that the lead puppet wearing character of Walter Black was originally going to be played by Steve Carell. Walter’s hand puppet is “a chatty British rodent” and Walter’s personality is transformed as a result of wearing it. This is similar to the horror film starring Sir Anthony Hopkins, Magic, in which he was a ventriloquist who was changed into a paranoid killer by the wooden companion.

EVAN RACHEL WOOD - WOOD'S CONFRONTATION WITH FOSTER OVER FLORA PLUM ROLE15 June 2009 22:00
Caption: Evan Rachel Wood (Picture) Los Angeles Premiere of 'Whatever Works' held at the Pacific Design Center - Arrivals West Hollywood, California .... WOOD'S CONFRONTATION WITH FOSTER OVER FLORA PLUM ROLE EVAN RACHEL WOOD didn't know whether to "kiss or punch" JODIE FOSTER when they met to discuss her role in forthcoming film FLORA PLUM - because she blames the Oscar winner for a childhood trauma. As a child Wood was pushed to emulate the actress' career, by her mother, who was obsessed with the Oscar winner. The 21 year old even attended the same schools and learned to speak French - like her mum's idol. So Wood found meeting Foster in person an odd experience. She tells the New York Daily News, "I had to sit my mum down one day and look at her and say, 'I'm not Jodie Foster. I'm me, and that's who I'm going to be. Okay?' "I actually got to sit down with Jodie and I thought, 'Not that this is a bad thing, but you've haunted me my entire life. I don't know whether to kiss you or punch you.' But she was amazing. "If I could pick anyone to have a conversation with or ask advice from, it would be her. I wept going to sleep the night before, and I wept waiting for her at the restaurant. It was a big deal for me."

Anthony Hopkins to Play Hannibal Lecter Again Hannibal Lecter is coming back to the big screen! Anthony Hopkins is teaming up with director Ridley Scott to bring back his most infamous role. Hopkins will reprise his cannibalistic serial killer for the fourth time in a second sequel to the 1991 hit film The Silence of the Lambs, for which he won a Best Actor Oscar. But surprisingly, the studio doesn’t want Jodie Foster for the role of Clarice. They said, “We’ve decided that we’re not going to reapproach Jodie. We are trying to come up with the right lead to replace Jodie and are putting together a list of candidates.” Cate Blanchett is reportedly the first choice for the role. The New York Post says, “I think Hopkins’ involvement raises the quality of the film considerably. Cate is a very respected actress, and she’s obviously been in the industry for a long time. In terms of pedigree, Cate would probably bring as much to the film as Foster did.” A spokesperson Universal says, "Hopkins and Scott are both very committed. We like what we've got, and the revised script is really, really good." Are you excited for this sequel??

| 01 May 2009 | Foster Might Be In For The Beaver
Hand-puppet dramedy with Jim Carrey Source: Risky Biz Blog - THR |
Take a rubber-faced A-list comedy star, one serious thesp and a small mammal puppet, and it sounds like you've got a movie. At least it does today, with rumour having it that Jim Carrey attached to star in and Jodie Foster seriously considering directing The Beaver. The slightly odd-sounding premise is actually a character piece about a man who becomes reliant on his beaver hand puppet for company, ascribing human emotions to the toy like a live action Mr Garrison from South Park. But the script, written by Kyle Killen, has been picking up plenty of interest with the original leading man set to be Steve Carrell, and now looking like Jim Carrey. Also in the frame was director Jay Roach. However, it now looks like this has fallen through and Carrey will not sign to the movie - along the same tonal lines as Lars and the Real Girl - unless they have a director in place. And among the directors being considered is Foster, who is picking up the art of helming again after making a few movies in the 90s, including Little Man Tate and Home for the Holidays. Carrey has been busy making the festive period come early with Disney's A Christmas Carol, out this year, and getting some man love with Ewan McGregor in I Love You Philip Morris. He is also set to take on the mantle of Curly in The Three Stooges later in 2009. So, does Jim Carrey and Jodie Foster's The Beaver sound like a quirky classic in the making? And let's try to keep the comments clean, eh? | | Emily Phillips |

Copyright 2008 Timothy Clary / Getty Images Jodie Foster said of the late Natasha Richardson that she was a woman who "loved fiercely." Natasha passed away on Wednesday following a tragic skiing accident. Jodie said of the actress, "Natasha was brilliant, beautiful, funny, talented beyond measure, as emotionally raw as she was razor sharp. Tasha loved fiercely and that love continues in all of us who knew her. May Liam [Neeson], her beautiful boys and her loving family hold her close as they move through this tragic moment." Jodie costarred with Natasha and Liam in the 1994 film 'Nell' -- that same year Natasha and Liam were married. Posted March 19, 2009 9:46:00 AM

Foster Caught Up in TV Cop Show Actress Jodie Foster found herself caught up in a reality TV program when she was recently stopped for a driving offense in Los Angeles. The Oscar-winner was pulled over by cops last weekend, after the officers suspected her of driving her Toyota Prius at over 54 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone. The officers from the Beverly Hills Police Department were taking part in the reality show "Speeders," which follows the activities of highway patrol officers. And when one of the cops approached Foster to issue the speeding ticket, the actress reportedly grew agitated when she saw the following camera crew and refused to allow the incident to appear on the TV show. A source tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "Foster refused to sign a waiver to appear on the show, so the camera crew ceased filming and returned to the police car. But she grew quite agitated and angry, and kept insisting to the police officers that the radar gun must have made a mistake. She maintained to the officers that she was only going 30 mph at the time they pulled her over, and she kept interrupting and complaining that the process was taking too long. "Despite her numerous requests otherwise, the cops still issued her a citation." Beverly Hills Police spokesman Lieutenant Tony Lee confirmed Foster was involved in the incident, adding, "She was upset that she got pulled over, but she signed the ticket and went on her way."

Inside Man 2 Still Moving Forward?
It seems that a long-thought-dead sequel might have some life left in it still. MTV Movies Blog caught up to director Spike Lee at the Sundance Film Festival, and the filmmaker revealed that a sequel for Inside Man is still moving forward.
The sequel was originally going to be written by the first film's writer, Russell Gerwitz, a script which involved Clive Owen's criminal crew partaking in a diamond heist, but now it seems Terry George (Hotel Rwanda) has taken over the writing duties.
"I got an email from Terry George yesterday," Lee said. "He just finished-he's at the end of the first act."
Apparently Lee has Clive Owen, Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster and Chiwetel Ejiofor all set to reprise their roles in the sequel, and he could possibly start shooting this year.
"If the script is up to snuff, we'll be shooting it," he says. "Here's the thing: if everything lines up-people's schedules are open, [we'll begin in] late summer, early fall."

Foster leads flock of stars introducing films at AFI bash LOS ANGELES — When Jodie Foster looks back on her performance in The Silence of the Lambs, she thinks: "Wow, I was really young!" She's not obsessing about physical changes over the 17 years since the movie came out, but the quality of her Oscar-winning performance. "There's a fragility and a kind of unconscious awkwardness there that I don't think I could duplicate again now that I'm 45." Foster was among 12 stars to introduce classic or signature movies at the AFI Night at the Movies, presented by Target and benefiting the American Film Institute, Wednesday night at the ArcLight Theater. The other featured stars: Annette Bening (American Beauty), Denzel Washington (Glory), Jim Carrey (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), Dustin Hoffman (Tootsie), Rita Moreno (West Side Story), Shirley MacLaine (The Apartment), Sean Connery (The Man Who Would Be King), Steve Martin (The Jerk), Cameron Diaz (There's Something About Mary), Keanu Reeves (The Matrix) and Mike Myers (Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery). Foster said that she hadn't seen Silence in more than 15 years, and watching it on the big screen was "a real treat. A lot of people who are 25, 26, they may have seen it on DVD or on TV but they've never seen it projected. "It's a beautiful, beautiful film." In her introduction, she related that one of the questions she's often asked is whether she was scared in the scene where her character is plunged into darkness in a showdown in the killer's basement. "I get asked that over and over," she laughed, adding she always patiently explains, "We need light to shoot films. In fact, that scene was a 26-hour day, filled with all sorts of debacles, one of which was that the moths — I think they were from South America — all died because it was so cold in Pittsburgh, and they had to bring in 10 or 15 wranglers with fishing poles and dead moths attached to the end and twirl them around every time I moved." She called the movie, which won five Oscars, including best picture, "A real genre film, one that is incredibly entertaining and yet incredibly complex. That, I think is the great power of cinema, that we don't do very often. Nowadays, we either have the genre movie or we have the really dark, artsy movie that nobody ever sees. There is absolutely no reason in the world why those two things can't be combined." Perhaps because his Austin Powers films will never be accused of being too complex, Myers was especially pleased to be included in the lineup. "It's a tremendous honor," he said. "The AFI loves movies, and this movie came about because (director) Jay Roach and I love movies. Anyplace that loves movies, I'm there." He admitted, though, that he avoids seeing his own ("I've never watched anything that I've done") and that he hastily flips past any of his films he happens to come across on TV. Rita Moreno, though, still loves watching West Side Story. "I get into those numbers," she said. "When I see America, I go crazy." Which isn't to say she doesn't see anything she would have done differently. When asked if she'd change anything about her Oscar- winning turn, she responded, "You bet! I would have been a lot better!" Many of the stars heard about the bailout bill passing the Senate as they were arriving. And during the group photo, Hoffman quipped, "When do we get our checks?" Carrey didn't miss a beat: "As soon as the bailout kicks in." Few other political notes were sounded, but Hoffman on the night before the vice presidential candidate debate, advised, "Sarah Palin is a quick study." And one eager Foster fan yelled, "Jodie for president!"

Jodie Foster Maggie Simpson, TV's most famous animated baby, will finally get a voice when Jodie Foster makes a special guest appearance in the next series. The actress will voice a much older version of the character in an episode called Four Great Women And A Manicure, according to Empire. The episode, which will be aired early next year, will focus on famous tales such as Queen Elizabeth's life and Macbeth. The cartoon baby's first word was famously voiced by screen legend Elizabeth Taylor. Anne Hathaway will also guest star as a girl who who catches Bart's eye in The Good, The Sad And The Drugly. The show will find him turning into a Good Samaritan in the name of love but unsurprisingly things don't go according to plan.

Natural beauty: Make-up free Jodie Foster fuels pregnancy rumours in clinging sundress
By Chris Johnson Last updated at 8:19 PM on 31st August 2008 Wearing a clinging purple sundress, Jodie Foster looks larger than her usual slim self, sparking rumours the Hollywood star could be pregnant. Foster, who split with her lesbian lover Cydney Bernard in May, betrayed a bit of a bump as she left a Los Angeles grocery store this weekend. Carrying shopping bags, the Silence of the Lambs actress sported a natural look and wore no make-up. Something for the oven Jodie?: The Hollywood star shows a bit of bump But the 45-year-old looked glowing and relaxed in a purple jersey sundress over a grey top with sunglasses. ( Read more... ) Jodie Foster leaves the LA grocery store wearing no make-up Some close friends reported the late gay film director Randy Stone, who died of heart failure last February, was the test-tube father of Kit and Charlie. But with fiercely private Foster staying mum, it is still unclear how she has conceived this time round if the pregnancy rumours are to be believed.
