| About: | This is a community dedicated to showcasing John Mayer graphics. They may come in the form of headers, FO banners, mood sets, etc. This is NOT an icon community. Please post your icons over at ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} j_mayer_icons. We will also be having the occasional contest(see below for details).No community would be complete without a set of rules: 1. No harrasment, lets keep it nice here folks! 2. Please follow the creators wishes, if they say no alteration, don't alter it, if they say credit, give it to them. People work really hard on their creations and don't need them to be stolen! 3. Have fun! Contest Details: 1. I will provide a theme, you have to make a graphic that fits the theme. It may be a type of picture, a song lyric, or just something general. Pretty easy right? 2. All your entries must be posted as a comment to the main post. I don't want to have everyone's friends page covered in contest entries. The comments will be screened; no one will know who made which graphic. You can't post your graphic anywhere until after the contest is over and voting totals have been calculated and posted. If you break this rule you will forfeit your entry in the contest. 3. There will be four main categories. Friends Only banners, Headers, Wallpapers, and Other. It is hard to compare a FO banner to a wallpaper, or visa versa, so I think it will be better if the different types of graphics are split up. You can enter two graphics per contest. If you decide to enter two graphics they must be in two different categories. If we don't have enough entries for the first few contests then we will just do one big category, or maybe be two, as the contest grows we can have multiple categories. 4. When you post your entries as comments make sure the file name has your user name in it somewhere. You can add other stuff in there too, but make sure your LJ name is in there somewhere. It's OK if you forget once or something, I won't delete your entry, just don't make it a habit. Also, when you post the entry, tell me which category it falls into. Sometimes headers can be pretty big, and may be mistaken for wallpapers. So just to be on the safe side, post the category. 5. This contest will be bi-weekly. You will have 2 weeks to make your graphics. Graphics tend to take longer to make then icons so that is why the contest is longer. When I post the voting for each week the new theme will be posted that same night. 6. You can make two grpahics per contest. They must be in different categories. 7. If your graphic is too big for photobucket.com to host, you can just e-mail it to me, and I will host it, annieherold@bellsouth.net. The current contest theme is Heavier Things 3-8. You have to use lyrics from tracks 3-8 off of Heavier Things. One or all, it doesn't matter, but there have to be lyrics from at least one of those songs. The entries will be due on Friday October 15th at 7pm. I will try to have the voting up by 9pm. We will vote until Sunday at 7pm, and the winners will be announced that evening. FAQ: 1. Can I make requests? Yes, you can make requests. Making a request doesn't guarantee that the graphic will be made. Thats just because we have a small membership, and not every one makes graphics. I am sure you could get someone to attempt it, but if not there is always j_mayer_icons2. What can I post? Any John Mayer graphic EXCEPT icons. We do not hate icons here at jmgraphics, we really like them in fact, but there are already communities for that(see below). Post your headers, wallpapers, FO banners, mood sets, or any other John Mayer Graphic. There is one exception to the icon rule: If you made an icon to go with the graphic you made, then you can post it. 3. Can I promote my community here? If you want to promote your community you have to check with me first. You can drop me a line over at my journal, anniesaysrelax, or E-mail me at annieherold@bellsouth.net. I will most likely let you as long as it is John Mayer related, I just don't want this community to be full of spam. If you have a community to promote, you have to make a graphic and post them together. That is the only way you can promote with out checking with me first.
