Hello! I'm looking for a specific picture of Jim...he's sitting on a chair and he has his head in his hand, like he's distraught or something of that manner. It seems to be in the back of a room, and there's another chair in front of him, but no one's sitting in it. There's an umbrella in the room, too. Anyone know where I can find this picture?

| A tribute to Jim Morrison and Freedom |
[06 May 2009|03:00am] |
Below is a little fanvideo I made, using several interesting clips and some photos too. As the title says, it is a Jim Morrison tribute (of course) but it also celebrates his liberal attitude, freedom in general and right to enjoy life ; )
The tribute is made by me black_olives_11 and the song used in the vid is called 'Embryonic Journey' by Jefferson Airplane.

Number 47 of all time eh? And who was number 1? Aretha Franklin? Come on pleaseeeeeeeeeeee. Did you all take time to take a look at the others in that list as well...the ones way before Jim? This add disgusts me. As a die-hard Morrison / Doors fan, I, myself, rank his as all-time number one. I saw a performance he did in Europe the other night on the television, some sort of pledging going on where they wanted you to donate 75 dollars for a single CD, more or less to keep the public channel to keep itself going. They showed the performance in London where he had toured with Jefferson Airplane but focused on his sets. It was truely amazing. They had said it was one of his best performances at the peak of the bands' stardom. Before Jim had crashed and burned on his alcohol and drugs. They were also offering a two DVD set, one was the London performance and the other a tribute to Jim Morrison narrated by the one girl and guy from Jefferson Airplane. I saw a bit and piece of it and the lady whom had slipped my name had mentioned while on tour, as they walked through the streets of Amsterdam back in that time, people were handing out free drugs. Jefferson Airplane members would take some then put some in their pockets for later on, while the girl continued to say that Jim would accept the drugs and take everything at once. He was a real go-getter I believe. That does not delude me from what he had accomplised over his lifetime. I imagine sometimes the 'stardom' was too much for him to handle. I assume he needed a release from all of it and he found that way through the drugs. It''s a shame he had to die so early in life, but we must remember him for the music and poetry he made, and how much of a unique person he was individually. You will always be remembered Jim....Rest In Peace my friend...

Does anyone know of a good website which contains pictures of Jim? Perhaps even the doors as well. I have been to www.thedoors.com and was unable to retrieve any. I would greatly appreciate any responses.

I was just browsing this site and someone said the worst 50 songs. Well if you think Jim has even one bad song, I don't think you belong to this community. "The End" certainly isn't one of them. If you've ever understood Jim, you'd realize that he was well beyond his day, soaking in all of the poetry and readings and taking his knowledge and making music. He was fantastic. When the rest of his band got with him, it was just simply put...Magical. He is truely my idol of all time and someone who lives on way beyond his death, even 50-100 years from now.
