Washington, May 5 (ANI): A throat infection has forced Oscar-winning singer Jennifer Hudson to postpone the concerts of her U.S. tour.

According to E! Online, she scrapped a gig that was to be held on May 3 in Oakland, California.

She is also said to have scrapped scheduled stops in Phoenix, Arizona, Biloxi in Mississippi and two concerts in Texas.

Jennifer last staged a gig on May 2 in Los Angeles, and turned it into a birthday tribute to the manager who helped her cope after the 2008 murders of her mother, brother and nephew.

She surprised her manager with a cake and a chorus of Happy Birthday, reports Contactmusic.

The audience of the Nokia Live also saw star guests — like Chaka Khan and Earth, Wind and Fire stars Philip Bailey and Verdine White — joining Jennifer on stage.

It is said that the scrapped Oakland gig will now be staged on May 19.

Other postponed dates are expected to be rescheduled shortly. (ANI)

Get well soon, Jenny!

The newest thing in the rumor mill is that Jennifer Hudson is pregnant. My inbox is being hit up left and right with sources saying that she's pregnant.

Her publicist has denied it but we take that all with a grain of salt.

We'll be keeping her on pregnancy watch!

Just to accompany [info]dreamon_dreamer's post talking about Jennifer's concert, I have some photos to share with you all.

And Jennifer is getting rave reviews! I'm very proud of her. I don't think I'll be able to go to the concert because I've already spent two hundred dollars on Coldplay tickets but cross your fingers!

i had the great fortune of seeing robin thicke and our girl in concert last night at madison square garden. thought i'd give a little breakdown of show (what i can remember of it, it's still kind of a blur).

under a cut in case anyone going to future tour stops doesn't want to be spoiled... )

Chicago native Jennifer Hudson, currently on tour with Robin Thicke, says that the Windy City is no longer her home. After the tragic murders of her mother, brother, and nephew on Chicago's South Side last year, Hudson has reportedly given up the condo she bought in the city's Magnificent Mile area. Purchased after Hudson appeared in the film adaptation of Dreamgirls, the condo has reportedly gone on the market with Hudson telling reporters, "I don't live in Chicago anymore."

Hudson has refused to discuss her family tragedy with the media, but it is clear she is trying to put it behind her. "I'm fine, I'm happy, I'm glad to be here," she told USA Today, adding, "My family and friends have always called me a woman of faith. For my whole life, that has helped me get through everything."

The Oscar winner notes that after the tour there will be plenty more scripts to look at, as well as considering what the follow-up to the Grammy winning Jennifer Hudson CD will be.

Recently, she explained that she'd like to make a more personal album next time out: " I would like to do something with more depth, just more everything to it, that's more true to me as an artist. Like, with your first album it's more led by the direction of the A&R and of course like Clive Davis, but I hope to put more of Jennifer in it and sing the songs that I grew up singing or the songs and the music that touch me or the music that I feel makes an impact."

Hudson remains on the urban charts with her single "If This Isn't Love."

Jennifer will be on the Today show on Mat 15th.

Mark your calendars!

Also: she says she would love to reprise the role of St. Louise from St. Louis in Sex and the City: The Movie

Jennifer Hudson would jump at the opportunity to reprise her role in the much-awaited ‘Sex & The City’ sequel.

The Oscar-winner had played the role of Louise as Carrie Bradshaw’s assistant in the 2008 romantic comedy film adaptation of the HBO comedy series of the same name.

The hit film saw the actress’ character abandon New York City to return to her Missouri hometown.

And after director Michael Patrick King’s sequel confirmation earlier this year, the star is keeping her fingers crossed for a second appearance.

“I would love (to play her again),” the Daily Express quoted her as telling Access Hollywood.

“I told Michael Patrick King that Louise has moved back to New York from St. Louis, so? I’ll be ready if that opportunity comes,” she added. (ANI)

The singer-and-actress will wed her partner, David Otunga, soon - although she will not reveal an exact date - and wants her three Pomeranian dogs - Dreamgirl, Oscar, and Grammy - to play a big part.

She said: “I want my dogs to be in my wedding. I am so serious.”

Jennifer also hinted her dress could be “the most untraditional thing” about the day, adding: “Everybody comes down the aisle in a white gown. Maybe I’ll give it a twist.”

The Oscar-winning actress has lots of experience of marriage ceremonies because of her previous job as a wedding singer.

She added: “Anything I could sing at, I did. I’ve sung at a lot of weddings and seen a lot of the same things, and I want to make sure this is different - but traditional, and very, very classy.

“I’ll be surrounded by family and friends. I hope that when I’m 80 years old, people will still be talking about my wedding.”

Jennifer - who is still grieving after her mother, brother and nephew were murdered last October - is currently on tour in the US.

Jennifer Hudson today with Oprah Winfrey -- the latest on the Oscar-winner after her family tragedy.

Looking fantastic in all black, tight pants, boots, a low cut top and blazer, she gushed about her first Grammy win, saying that having Whitney Houston present her with the award "almost surpassed winning the Grammy."

"I'm good," she said when asked how she's doing. "I'm really good. Glad to be back to working and doing what I love to do. I'm in a very good place."

She's also created a good place for her awards -- in her piano room! The singer has playfully named her three dogs after her accomplishments; Oscar, Grammy and Dreamgirl.

Afterwards she took the stage to perform "If This Isn't Love" from her self-titled debut album, delivering yet another memorable performance in a series of recent TV appearances.
