the story is about a young priest played by jeremy brett, who falls in love with his housekeeper (who had an abortion) and he has to decide whether he leaves the church or not (he therefore meets a man who has left the church after being a priest - also for a woman - but she left him and he got a drunk).. jeremy's character is desperate and his colleague - another young priest - treats his love horrible, making her suffer for the abortion and telling her that it would be a sin and that she could never get happy. Jeremy's character rushes into the room, slaps the face of his colleague and shouts at him "tell her it's not true"!

well, at the end he leaves the priesthood to get happy with her.

Thanks for posting these. As usual, he is gorgeous.
With regards to JB's character leaving the priesthood: I didn't get the feeling he was in love with the girl, but longed for the full experience of having a woman in his life, not necessarily in a sexual way. He was struggling with not really understanding half the population he was serving. She was definitely in love with him though.(and who wouldn't be!)
He was already struggling with his vocation, she was the catalyst that got him to make the decision. This is my take on the story. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time!
Any body else have any ideas about the story?

The storyline is very touching. And I am sure that the performance of Jeremy would have made it a great show. I wish I could see it. I like Jeremy playing such roles which depict the deep feelings and emotions of a person from within.

I thank you as well for posting these. Gee, even as a priest, JB's tongue gets screen time! HA! He had so many quaint little eccentricities. That smirk, the eye smoulder (oh YES), that sideways cock to his head and faraway-yet-vulnerable gaze that just melts ya. Just a lovely, lovely guy.
