Jekyll Fanfics

It has been awfully quiet around here lately, so I thought I'd share this little ficlet that I wrote this afternoon while sitting around in a laundromat, waiting for my clothes to dry.

Pairing: None really, unless it's possible to be Claire/Hyde before he knows that she exists.

I know that others have tackled the subject multiple times before. Hopefully people will give my version a shot anyway.

smallfandomfest is accepting prompts through May 21st. According to their rules, there is no limit to the number of prompts that you may post, and posting a prompt does not obligate you to any further participation. Therefore, I figure that anyone who can think of a Jekyll (or other small fandom of your choice) prompt should head over there and submit it on the off chance that it inspires someone to write something in our poor neglected little fandom.

Edit: Just in case anyone cares, I should mention that the Jekyll prompts I've already submitted can be found here and here. I may have gotten a little carried away.

The subject line pretty much says it all. There is now a Jekyll category in the TV Shows section of FFN. I just thought I'd mention it on the off chance that it might inspire people to go running off and start writing new Jekyll fic. Hope springs eternal and all that. :)

Yuletide sign-ups are now open!

There are 2500+ fandoms from which to choose, including Jekyll and Murphy's Law. I haven't signed up yet because I'm still sorting out exactly how I want to word my requests, but I plan to have done so by the time I go to bed tonight. Sign-ups last through Nov. 10, 9pm US Eastern time. All you need to do to participate is be able to write a one thousand word story by Dec. 20th.

In other news, I finally got around to making a Jekyll icon for myself. :)

I just thought I'd drop in to mention that Yuletide 2008 is now accepting fandom nominations, just in case anyone was interested.

For those who don't know, it's a fanfic exchange focusing on "obscure" fandoms. You can nominate whatever fandom you want, and if it is considered eligible, then it ends up on the giant list of what you can request/write. Once sign-ups start, you request several fandoms from the list and also offer to write for various fandoms. You get sent someone else's request in one of the fandoms you offered, write a story at least 1000 words long, and submit it to the archive by the deadline. At the same time, someone is writing a story for you based on one of your requests. In theory, the archive becomes accessible and everyone gets a story on Christmas day.

I've never participated before, but it looks like a lot of fun. I've already nominated Jekyll and Murphy's Law (I've never found any fic for that one), but I'm sure a few more nominations for those two fandoms wouldn't be amiss if anyone here was planning to participate. :)
