They Shoot Gilmores, Don't They? A Recap

I'm in the middle of recapping my favorite 25 hours of television over at my blog and this week's episode was Gilmore Girls, so I thought I'd post it here for people who would appreciate it completely.

Stars Hollow, Connecticut. We hear voices talking, a man and a woman, as the camera pans across lovely views of a quaint small town square. We see a large banner advertising an upcoming twenty-four hour dance marathon, for charity, as the man's voice asks, "What about that one?" Nope. Too pale. "So what?" he says. And then we finally see, as if we didn't know already, that it's Lorelai Gilmore and Luke Danes, coffee connoisseur and diner owner, respectively. They appear to be scrutinizing possible dance partners for Lorelai out the wide diner window. But none are up to her standards. She and Luke banter cutely about the pale guy. He says pale means sunscreen, but she says sickly: Mad Cow. He pretends to be annoyed by her fickleness, as she launches into the story about how she lost last year's marathon because of a clumsy dance partner with no stamina. "I know the story." But she continues, it was hour twenty-three. "I know the story." She was dancing with Ho-Ho McAphie the third. Luke addresses the diner, "How many people heard me say I know the story?" They all raise their hands.
