what is essential
Have any of you ever read The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry? If not, you can read the whole story, complete with illustrations, here.
It's an older children's tale, translated from French, and I'd never read it before. So I did just that today. And I completely adore it. ♥
It's cute and sweet and holds some really great messages.
So go read it!
Finally finished reading The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. God, that book was unnecessarily long, filled with the Tolkien-esque too much information. All these ridiculous, hard-to-pronounce fantasy names of people and places that I just don't care about that weren't explained well and aren't relevant to the story anyway. Just get on with it, ya know? (Good thing there's a glossary in the back.)
Not to say I didn't enjoy it. Yeah, it's your cliché chosen-teenager-meant-to-save-the-world-f
Anyway, favorite character? Mat! ( spoilers ) I also like Moiraine. And Lan. And Perrin. ( spoilers ) Even the characters I don't particularly care about had some good moments.
Er, pairings? Not many choices. Maybe one (non-canon?) het one: ( spoilers ) I sorta want to slash Mat with someone too, just 'cause he's my favorite character.
While some aspects of the book seemed very convenient, some weren't at all. And many of the scenes were quite fear-evoking with some very interesting dangers.
Would I recommend it? If you're a fan of the excruciatingly long LOTR books, you'd probably like it. If you'd rather watch the LOTR movies, then you might wanna skip the book and wait for the movie to be made. I'm in the latter group, but I do wanna know what happens to satisfy my curiosity. Whether I choose to read more of the books (and I heard they get even worse) or simply spoil myself, well...I'll wait awhile before making any decisions.
And I started on World War Z just in time for Halloween.

I completely fail as a young adult. Seriously.
I haven't been in contact with like anyone over the past 2 weeks
Except Cassie but thats pretty much a no brainer,

Not much has really been happening in my life. Lots of work. Reading. Writing. Drawing. Sleeping. Movie Marathons... last night it was an 80's night, like most nights. Lol. I think I watched Sixteen Candles 3 times. =D. I haven't been in the mood to leave the house or do anything too extreme, Although last weekend I did get my lip pierced. Lol, finally. So I guess that could count as extreme. But yeah, I thought I should check my emails and shit. make sure people knew I was actually alive. Tbh i'm more alive than ever. I'm kind of on a Fall Out Boy bender. They always make me feel more alive than I actually am. The way Patrick sings the lyrics sends tingles to my fingers and I can just lie there and listen forever. Also new album soon so im getting myself all uber excited.
I was pretty stoked to see that Mr. Beckett has started somewhere for me, and others like myself, to post the things we write. I've been writing heaps lately so that is stellar. Snaps for Bill. I'm gunna start posting my stuff abit later when I sort it all out.
And on that note. I'm gunna go do something with my hands. I'm feeling all creative.

School's over omgz gonna miss it after awhile really really will. But Os are in less than a week (prac!) and... Time to make it all come good right? Yes. Right. Last night's tuition with Val, Rachel and Danella was fun(ny) :) Okay so today I'm taking time off studying (hahahahahahahahahaha okay) to do something that's been long overdue. (wait for it)... Shopping! I realise how off I sound, but really I'm so excited!
I can't wait for "The Day" to come. I will make it happen someday. Someday will be The Day!!!!!!!!!!

I was going to go to Gary's Berries (why do they call it that, it's a corn maze) tonight with Nita, Haley and Shelby, but we couldn't find a ride. So, I didn't have a very eventful Friday night. Haley came over and hung out, it got cold outside. I watched Celebrity Jeopardy, looked at digital cameras online and watched some other tv. I'm going to the cross country meet tomorrow!

I can't believe I stayed up that long to watch the new Britney video and I can't believe so many people are loving it. Sure, in comparison with 'Gimme More' it's a masterpiece but in comparison with all her old videos it's not. It's a decent video but it's definitely not the best video ever.
I am not getting the concept of the whole video. It looks a little bit like Toxic Part 2 and the 'naked' scenes are hot but pretty useless. Ugh. I don't know. The dancing stuff was awkward too. They could have done so much more. I guess I'll never get my old Britney back.

New Moon and Twilight movie
Finally, after months of complaining and putting it off I finished New Moon! I know a lot of people might disagree with me, but the book for me had it's high points but I thought it had a lot more low points than it did high points.
Low Points: There's nothing that I hate more than reading a person complain, and for me that's all that it was. Bella seemed so weak to me, it was sorta insulting I mean it's set in the 21st century women aren't like that. But don't get me wrong I understand that she was sad for a little while. But after about a couple chapters I hoped she would have stopped talking about the unhealed hole she had, for me it as a little played out and became over dramatic by the end. Another thing I hated was how she treated Jacob. I think if he had any self respect he would have just told her he didn't want to wait for her. He was too good of a guy to be waiting around for her to get over Edward. The thing I disliked the most was when she found out that Jacob was a werewolf she started judging him about being a monster, that made me very angry. Everything also seemed so predictable, and it seemed like it took Bella a long time to get everything.
Good Points: I liked when Alice came back, that's when I really started to connect with the story. I like the whole end, and meeting the other vampires, that was very interesting to me. I also loved the scene when Bella had the whole Cullen family vote whether they wanted her in the family or not. I was feeling so much anxiety when Carlisle told her that he'd change her. I am so wishing that she doesn't become a vampire, I think it'll ruin the whole love story if she does.
Movie:
So after seeing the trailer of Twilight, I've become nervous of the actor selection, but I don't feel that I can really judge until after the movie comes out because all I've judged them on is looks, so I'll know about the acting obviously after they act. But I do love Kristen Stewart though, I saw her in In the Land of The Women and thought she was really good in it. I think she might be too pretty to be Bella, in my opinion. As for Robert Pattinson I haven't seen him in anything but Harry Potter which he was barely in. My feelings about him physically is that I don't think he's good-looking to be Edward. But I still can't wait until the movie comes out because I loved the first book, and only read it because I found out the movie was coming out. I'm pretty sure me and my friend are going to go see the midnight showing. :D

Connecticut overturns ban on gay marriage.
I really believe that with this, and if California votes down Prop 8, we could see sweeping effects through the nation. This really feels like a pivotal point in the queer rights movement.
