| About: | This is a community for Jacksonville, Florida, surrounding First Coast residents and people with ties to the local area.
This community was created as an alternative to ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) whydoesjaxsuck. It was created so people can post what they want about anything because I know the moderator of whydoesjaxsuck doesn't always want people putting stuff for sale on that community. Here... you can do that because we don't care.
![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) jaxtransplant suggested I post some rules. I think it's pretty smart, so here they are:
RULES
1. Keep discussions as close to the topic of "Jacksonville", events, colleges and local happenings as possible.
2. If you want to post about something random, at least try to get it to relate to Jacksonville in some way.
3. Do not simply post "I'm bored" (unless you want to get a group of Jacksonvillians together to hang out).
4. Do not make posts about your personal life that don't relate to Jacksonville. I.E., if your social life sucks because of where you live in the city, I guess that would be OK.
5. Check the community's "Memories" section before posting a question to see if it has already been answered in the past.
6. Do not post quizzes!!!
7. Steer clear from political posts as well. Questions/comments about local or student politics are appropriate, though. Posts or questions asked about national or international politics and situations have proven to be bad news for this and other communities, due to the fact that people argue. If you want to talk general politics, here are some places where you can converse or just listen to the same ideas repeated over and over:
conservatism
liberal
libertarianism
debate
8. If you have a large image to post, be kind and use lj-cut. Go to LiveJournal's FAQ section if you don't know how to cut.
9. Please leave comments turned on unless you are selling an item and prefer to be emailed about it than receive comments.
