"Exactly what about our jobs is homoerotic?"
Daniel glanced at the figure in his doorway and sighed. He really should have thought about the ramifications of giving Jack a key to his apartment, not long after Sha’re died. It wasn’t so much that Jack abused the privilege as that he seemed to have an appalling instinct for turning up at the most inconvenient times.
“Hi, Jack, how are you? Surviving your downtime, I see.”
Jack gave him a wave and strolled further into the apartment, rocking back and forth on his toes as he regarded the pile of books, notes, magazines, and other scholarly mess which surrounded Daniel’s little clear sitting space on the floor.
“You’re clearly not,” the colonel smirked. “What happened in here, Goa’uld attack?”
Daniel leaned back on his hands and looked up at Jack with raised eyebrows. “I’m having fun, Jack. Or at least I was. There were no ribbon devices, flash grenades, or glowing eyes involved.”

Someone was standing over where Jack lay, and he summoned the energy to crack open an eyelid and deliver a half-hearted glare.
“I’m sleeping.”
“Yes, sir,” Carter replied, her voice low enough to hopefully avoid waking Daniel, who was collapsed on a storage crate just behind Jack’s head.
“I suppose it would be in bad taste to tell you to go to hell, Carter?”
