ABOUT J_FANFICRANTS

Ever read a fic that was so horrific it burnt your eyes? Did it have horrible characterization, bad grammar and spelling and made you want to rip your hair out? Feel like letting off some steam and writing a good ol' rant about the quality of work in your fandom? The solution is simple; write one here!

j_fanficrants is a place for you to rant about your favourite fandom, be it Gazette to Malice Mizer, and the good, the bad and the downright evil fanworks that come with it. You can rant on things from fanfiction to fanart, cosplay to roleplay, website, communities - whatever the hell you want.

But remember; even though we're a rant community, we'd love to see GOOD fanfiction, GOOD fanart and GOOD fandoms, so share any recommendations you have (just recommendations, though - fics should be posted elsewhere). After all, we're here to share experiences - good and bad.

RULES

→ NO PERSONAL POSTS;

j_fanficrants was created for the sole purpose of ranting - you're going to encounter a pissed-off ranter along the way sooner or later, but try to keep the posts more about topics in the JRock/JPop fandom and less about fellow ranters. If it doesn't have anything to do with fanworks, we don't want to know - that's what

jrock_wank is for.

→ NO HUGE RANTS; LJ-cuts are needed if your post is longer than 3 paragraphs.

→ NO EDITING; once you've posted your rant, please DON'T edit it unless you're correcting grammar and spelling errors or adding a disclaimer.

→ NO LINKS; feel free to rant as much as you like, but please don't add a) the name of the fic, b) a link to the fic or c) the name of the author in your rant if they reside within LJ.

→ NO WHOLE FICS; you're free to post quotes and bits and piece of fics for amusement/horror value, but absolutely no whole fics.

→ NO TROLLS; if anyone is found posting something that is a potential flamebait, one of the moderators will stop all following replies from being posted and no new comments or posts on this subject will be allowed. Furthermore, the user who trolled will firstly receive one warning and instant banning will occur if the situation happens again.

→ NO DISCRIMINATION; racism, homophobia and any other form of discrimination will not be tolerated and will result in instant banning with no warnings.

→ NO ANTI-?; do not promote anti-pairings, anti-band members etc. Users who flame others for liking certain pairings will get a warning and, if the situation happens again, will be banned.

→ NO FIGHTING; please don't argue over 'who knows [this band] better than someone'. Discussing characterization is fine, but don't brag and claim to know the band personally or talk about how many years you've listened to them, therefore that makes you better than other people. We're all FANS here, so act like it please.

→ NO SPAM; feel free to promote communities in
