Welcome to one of eljay's most innovative icon tutorial communities! What's different about us is that we only accept tutorials for winning icons. Which means that all of our tutorials have already achieved first, second, third or any other award placement (i.e. Mod's Choice and special catagories) status in an icontest/awards community; this includes GreatestJournal, DeadJournal, and any other largescale site that hosts these contests.
I liked this idea because it would do multiple things; one, it would teach successful techniques; two, it would accelerate one's creative knowledge in common art programs; and three, it would lift the burden put on most community banner-makers who scratch their heads thinking "how'd they do that? o.O;" when put to the task of making a matching banner.

When submitting to this community, you're expected to use our basic outline. You may add to it as you please, so long as it does not violate any rules or exceed a comfortable length for one's friends page (that's being considerate :3).

All posts must be approved by moderators. So don't be surprised if your entry doesn't instantly appear in the community. Please don't attempt submitting the same tutorial more than once unless you've been advised to by a moderator.

If there is a problem with your tutorial, one of the moderators will contact you if there is a means of doing so (like havng the relevent contact information in your userinfo). If you are rejected, you will recieve an email stating so and an explination included by a Mod saying why it was rejected, and possibly suggest what you could do from there.
Complications may result in your tutorial being approved for the following reasons...

Not including a proof link to the winner's announcement post
Not providing an eljay cut
Using a fake cut (the only time you may use one is to fake-cut from your journal to here and not the other way around! Your tutorial must originate here)
Not crediting your resources (if applicable)
excluding the mention of other tutorials that were vital in creating your icon (aka "parent tutorial")
Including spam and/or plugs in your entry
Including irrelevent questions to your entry





If you use a tutorial from our community, you're expected to credit the user who composed said tutorial. Do so in your userinfo or as keywords and do so even when you're submitting to an icontest. Provide a link back to the specific entry you've used. Because it isn't nice to lead people to believe you invented the icon all by yourself.

If you originally used a tutorial and then won an icontest and would like to post your spin on the tutorial, that is acceptable.
But you are required to provide a link to the tutorial you used in the same entry you're posting yourself.
If you are planning to post an identical tutorial, it will not be approved.

If you fail to credit, you will be warned first and banned second. By joining this community, you've agreed to these rules.
