The conflict and its history is included not so much as a focus but as a part of a broader political picture. the main focus is the nitty gritty of israeli politics. Developments in knesset, budgetary concerns, resource management, and all of the public policy and sociopolitical makeup of the electorate that an Israeli policy maker might find him or her self concerned with in the course of governing that country. It also concerns all of the elements that concern the the people as voters in that country. Within the scope of this forum is also included the role of Israel as a player in international politics.
I am pretty reluctant to ban in most instances, but for right now I will list three offenses guaranteed to get one banned.
1. Trolling.
2. Trolling.
3. Trolling.
There are other offenses that may get one banned if it is offensive enough. those kinds of things i will put into the category of trolling. but more likely the penalty for this will be post deletion.
1.) Racism or Bigotry (yes i realize the line is ambiguous. I will use my discretion as best i can.
2.) Name calling and ad hominems. (this one should be obvious)
3.) Direct links to news articles without any sort of introductory remarks to open discussion.
4.) Along the same lines, no plagiarism. If you're copying and pasting someone's work, cite it, and make the necessary introductory remarks.
5.) Linking to personal journal posts or posts in other communities. Discussion that starts on this community stays on this community. Period.
6.) DO NOT disable comments to any posts made on this community. Any such posts will be immediately deleted, and repeat offenders will be banned. This is a discussion forum, not a soapbox.
7.) No advertising or campaigning. If you have any doubt as to whether your post is doing either, it probably is. Exceptions can be made (particularly for the advertising of related communities) only with express permission from the moderator.
8.) No off-topic posts. There are a dozen other communities (some of which I also moderate) for discussion of the conflict and "pro israel advocacy" and that sort of thing. This is not one of those. This is for discussion of issues in Israeli politics and society (particularly as the social issues relate to politics).
