Dogs: Stray Dogs Howling in the Dark anime this spring [27 Apr 2009|09:56pm] clytemnaestra I may be behind the times, because I just found out that an anime version of the manga Dogs is going to be released. I just picked up the first US volume by Viz and found it pretty interesting, and then learned that Ishida Akira plays Badou in the drama cds and will be in the upcoming anime! I'd do it myself, but I'm worried I might mess something up even though I'd simply be removing the nonsense written in there about him. Here it is for everyone to join in my disgust. It's just the stuff about the "Spouse(s) and the "children" that I personally think should be removed. I remember reading some entries back that someone else messed with his Wiki page before, and thank goodness this time it isn't that severe. All the same, I really hate how people fool around with things because they think they are being funny. It's horrible how childish individuals can be. My brother just bought the DVD Complete Box Set of Star Trek : The Next Generation, and when I watched it, I turned the audio to Japanese....and I'm sure 100%, that the dubbed Japanese voice of Wesley Crusher is Ishida Akira !!!!! The problem is, I can't get information about he's dubbing one of Star Trek series....is it really Ishida-san's voice, or just someone else (if there is someone elese, then he must be Ishida-san's twin, because the voice is sooooo him...). Any Bleach fans? [06 Sep 2008|11:55pm] clytemnaestra It has recently come to my attention that the 2nd Bleach Movie: The DiamondDust Rebellion is out on the internet. It is Raw, no subs yet, as the dvd isn't even out yet, I believe. Anyways, Ishida is the main villain/Hitsugaya's childhood friend, and as such there is some great evil laughter and angsty speeches about ... zanpakutos, and ... stuff that I couldn't understand. Question [03 Mar 2008|03:53pm] shiroi_ume [ mood | accomplished ] [ music | my fan ]  Hello everyone! No, I have nothing to share at this moment. I'm still waiting for my dear dear Eri-san to convert the Cafe Kichijyoji de tracks into mp3 files. Until then, I hope I won't be scolded for asking a question without offering something in return. Here it is... We are all aware of Ishida-san's obvious talents, whether it be the range of  different voices he uses for his ever-growing list of roles, or the manner in which he conveys the emotions (or lack there of) and demeanors of these same characters. Characters like: Hakkai from Saiyuki, Yasuaki from Harukanaru Toki no Naka de, Xellos from Slayers, or Minagawa from Cafe Kichijyoji de. Those four characters possess vastly different personalities, and there are countless characters still who I have failed to mention with differing personalities than Hakkai, Xellos, etc. At last we reach my question, after having to put up with that somewhat lengthy statement of the obvious. So... I was wondering... Has Ishida-san ever lent his voice to a character with a playboy/shameless flirt personality stereotype? I've considered all of the series I have seen or read about in which he has worked on, but unless my memory is failing me, I haven't come across any characters fitting that description. Personally, I think it would be rather amusing to hear him in that kind of a role, just to get an idea of how he would portray that kind of character. I only use the word "stereotype" to give a general idea of what I'm asking. I don't think Ishida-san voices stereotypical characters in any way, shape, or form. However, to provide examples of what I mean, I suppose, if someone can answer this question, two characters to base this generalization off of would be, Gojyo from Saiyuki, voiced by Hirata Hiroaki, or Youji from Weiss Kreuz, voiced by Miki Shinichirou. Now, I don't mean the character(s) have to be precisely like those two, but I hope using either of them as a template makes things easier. Okay, I'm done now.
