This community is for people who have grown up or lived in Ireland (Northern or the Republic of). The aim is to foster dialogue about current Irish political life, including but not limited to issues, campaigns and policy discussions concerning -

This community is not about -

This community is not a site for discussion of Irish political history prior to 1960, unless it directly relates to a current issue under discussion.

The following topics are totally discouraged, and will be deleted if posted!

- Press / media releases relating to any political party or individual.
- Questions about travel to Ireland, genealogy queries etc etc
- Romanticisation of The Troubles™
- Support for paramilitary organisations (support for their political wings is acceptable)
- Reductionist stereotypes about Ireland or Irish people
- Bigoted and racist comments about any group, including the Irish, British, Protestants, Catholics, Africans, Asians etc
- Posts or comments referring to any individual or party as a "fascist", "nazi" or anything relating to the Nazi or other fascist systems of government shall be deleted (Comparisons showing comparisons between two or more individuals are allowable, but shall be deleted if moderators deem such a course of action reasonable).
