Information Society - Apocryphon

So, who has received their copy of Apocryphon? :D

C'mon, let's hear about it! I can't believe nobody has posted.

I'm also a little curious if they've made their way to Brasil yet - [info]juniorkain, [info]arvybrazil?

Wait a sec, what the heck is this? [19 Jun 2008|09:32pm]

foxhack
So I figured, I'm never going to find an honest to $deity copy of Don't Be Afraid anywhere close to where I live for cheap, and I had a bunch of Amazon.com credit, so what the hell. I decided I'm going to buy the Don't Be Afraid remastered MP3 set.

So I searched Amazon.com.

And I find... Don't Be Afraid V1.3?!

OMGWTFBBQ?!?!?!?!?!?!

I looked at the band's website and there was no mention of this album at all. Amazon.com says it's going to be released on JULY 8. And it's kinda expensive but that's neither here or there. Anyway.

What in the hell is this? Is this for real? Has the band flipped their lids? AM I GOING INSANE?!

Edit:
Also, they have samples of the bonus bonus track, Kebabtraume 1.0 - but it's White Roses. The White Roses track is another one I've never heard before, so I'm confused as hell.

Retrospective Perspective [17 Jun 2008|11:52pm]

Since we're all posting super-cheesy InSoc stuff, let me redirect your attention to the 2006 InSoc Community Year in Pictures post.

Complete with [info]odette__odile calling it the "Information Sexy-citey."

And also the comment thread with an unnecessary amount of jokes about bees, on a post where [info]pyrotech_c3h8 refers to a cover of "running" as sounding like Cobra Commander was singing it.

...and cobra commander WAS singing it! )

Holy crap!

My favorite remixer/dj, Tommie Sunshine (who sometimes seems to be singlehandedly bringing danceable-rock back to the clubs) just posted his remix of Insoc's 'Run Away' on his Myspace page.

Click. Listen. Enjoy!

Old InSoc.org files gone? [30 Apr 2008|07:30pm]

Hey guys - I was brosing Kurt's old site last night to download some of the sound fx & wav files he had available for download. They don't seem to be on the server anymore - does anyone have a link to the downloads anymore?

Allow me to preface this by saying that I find Don't Be Afraid to be The Best Album Ever, so I'm definitely quite biased. That said, the remaster seems well done, at least to my non-professional ears. The drum kicks in Ozar Midrashim (The Best Track Ever) are harsher and more "goth", and the remaining tracks sound more subtle - all the little key-jangles and animal noises feel more brought out.

I'm not an audiophile, though, just some guy, so feel free to throw tomatos at me :)

PS: If you have the 89 cents and the desire, I recommend downloading at least the White Roses release from Amazon. Unlike the freely available version (courtesy of [info]rob_t_firefly and others in the Insoc Internet Liberation Force), this one has an extra 40-odd seconds towards the end.

(I'd still like to see a CD re-release, along with some of the B-sides (The original, longer Ozar Midrashim?))

[ music | Running [Information Society] [Creatures of Influence] ]

I tried to access the old Insoc.org archive hosted at InformationSociety.us, but I can only get the index. When I click on a link, all I get is a 404 page.

Uh... did someone spill coffee on the server or something?
