#28 Nine Inch Nails - The Perfect Drug (Dir. Mark Romanek, 1997)

I remember being very excited when this video was released. I expected it to be related to the film Lost Highway since Trent Reznor produced the soundtrack. Instead, Mark Romanek went a different way and created a unique work of art inspired by Edward Gorey's "The Gashlycrumb Tinies.

#29 Tool - Prison Sex (Dir. Fred Stuhr, 1993)

The second of Fred Stuhr's stop motion masterpieces for Tool. Adam Jones assisted on this and directed all of their future videos after Stuhr's tragic death, but they didn't quite capture the magic of Sober and Prison Sex.

#38 Wax - California (Dir. Spike Jonze, 1995)

Wax - CaliforniaWhile the man on fire gets all of the attention, the thing that gets me about this video is the closing scene of the girl sadly looking out the window, oblivious to all that is going on. There is something about that melancholy that struck a chord, reminding me of being little and looking out the window at the world. Previously; ( Click here for more. )

#41 Pearl Jam - Jeremy (Dir. Mark Pellington, 1992)

Pearl Jam - JeremyPredating Columbine and Va Tech, this video is much more relevant today. This video actually scared the hell out of me when it was released. There was this kid named James that I went to school with that was more than a bit odd. He took so much shit over the years that I was sure he would show up one day to gun us all down. Even though this video is about Jeremy Delle shooting himself, the editing at the end was subjective making it appear that he shot his classmates. Previously; ( Click here for more. )

#42 Beastie Boys - Sabotage (Dir. Spike Jonze, 1994)

BEASTIE BOYS - SABOTAGEThe Beasite Boys star in the mock 70's crime drama TV show "Sabotage" directed by Spike Jonze. I just wonder why the beastie boys never had their own action figures, with as many characters as they have created over the years. I just imagine MCA with kung-fu grip, Ad-Rock with a rocket pack, and Mike D with 10 inch platform shoes.....It'd be great. Previously; ( Click here for more. )
