[05 Sep 2008|07:18am] gogoicarus [ mood | amused ] so uh. ren likes watching discovery channel nature documentaries. :o boy does she go CRAZY at the TV over watching the big cats. nostrils flaring, poised for fight-or-flight, looking to see if they've jumped outside of the frame of the TV...it's hilarious in a really cute way. she also goes nuts for birds of paradise. climbing up in front of the screen, trying to puzzle how to get in and where the birds are going. she's quite content to just watch other animals (caribou, wild dogs, fish) but the big cats and the birds really get her going. and, much like a small child, falls asleep when the camera stops showing animals and pans over mountain ranges or something. 7 comments|post comment

IF YOU GUESSED THAT THIS IS EXTREMELY RELEVANT TO MY INTERESTS, YOU WOULD BE RIGHT. it's pretty awesome, I recommend checking it out. :D Here's a bunch of issues of it, I recommend using cdisplay to read em. Totally worth checking out because along with all the wonderful ♥ old people ♥, it has one of the best characters ever in it. THE EMOTICON. YOU KNOW YOU WANT MORE OF THAT. Going to Plymouth with my friends, at last. I've been really looking forward to this all summer, I refuse for it to be unenjoyable now. I will accept nothing less than a great time. This does, of course, mean I won't be online much until tomorrow evening. Oh dear, poor you guys. Moreso though, it means... I won't be able to ask item how the play went. .... unless I text. I suppose this isn't so very difficult to get around after all. But still! Hope it's going well as I type this, and hope it went well as you read. I had the nastiest meal today. Two days ago, my kid brother decided to go fishing off the pier, and did rather well for himself. Came back with a bag of mackerel, a couple of pollock, and two teeny weeny herring. At first it was all charming and impressive, but today... we had to eat it. I don't like fish, so... naturally, it wasn't great. Bro didn't enjoy it much at all either, and even poor mum wasn't too impressed. The fish was good! We just... don't like it, hahah. Fortunately, the two teeny herring found a more appreciative audience in Myrtle the cat. Mum cooked them in milk just for her (I didn't even know that was possible, I'm amazing at food). She enjoyed that very much (although spent most of the day in a fearsome prowling state, aware that fish was near). At this moment, she sleeps on the couch, in all her tiny sated glory. I think that's about all for this update, really. I want to upload one of my Dora icons here (probably this one), but I caaan't, hahah. I wonder if I'm playing him as too... well, too much of a nasty jerk, hahah. He is a nasty jerk, but I dunno if he'd be quite so openly mean at times as I've been playing him. But I'm gonna have Yoh and Zelos there, I need at least one character who'll be halfway honest! ... some of the time. ..... I've learned I'm a terrible teacher, at least! But that was fun, right? If you don't like, fair enough. I wasn't at all sure about WoW when I started, I'll admit. Honestly though, don't make yourself play if it's no fun, and don't make yourself endure my teaching if you'd rather run free, as it were. durp. BUT ANYWAY, I want to finish my Yoh app. I can throw Zelos' together pretty easily from, well, applications to different games. But Yoh's is new. I've finished the history segment though, and the rest won't really take long. I should get those two in and settled alongside Dora before I consider this, I know, but I was thinking earlier and... frankenstein: through the eyes of the monster (a screencap adventure) part 5 [02 Sep 2008|05:48pm] gogoicarus [ mood | frustrated ] time to return to the dizzying mazes and infurating puzzles of the frankenstein game :O i have to warn you that by this point, the glitz is starting to wear off the game for me. i am a simple person. i will solve puzzles all day and night, but i expect a simple reward. that reward is tim curry. this entire section not only was there no tim, the MONSTER didn't even provide any commentary. which, at points, would have been helpful. oh well, onward ever upward. Warning: It isn't even WORTH it on dial up ( oh god, do words even describe my loathing for the wine cellar maze. ) so this leaves us with two options. ONE: by tinkering with the tub earlier to satisfy my rocky horror reference urges, i screwed up the puzzle and will not be able to complete it with my current saved game and must restart OR TWO: the game is glitched and cannot be completed because faulty coding makes it so no matter what, this room is fucked, and i cannot drain that tub into the crystal tube. WILL I REPLAY UP TIL THIS POINT? She adds them for flow, not so much for grammar, and it's so reassuring and lovely to read. Not to mention the nice dreamy feel of her prose in general. Every time I read something of hers it sticks in my head, like a puff of cotton floating on the warm summer wind. Mmm. I started playing Xenosaga again last night. Leveling is such a grind compared to DDS! D: The Tiamat battle cannot come soon enough. Tiamat, I love fighting you! <3 I'm considering commissioning kalamburd for a bust or something. My first draw back at anthrosketchxch and I get a white feral wolf. :X I can't shade with white and I'm horrible at feral anatomy, plus I just plain don't like drawing wolves. Augh.
