Dear Watchers,

As you know, I was on a long long hiatus from LJ and graphic making, and I know that many other artists watch my community, so I was wondering if you could help me out a little.

My problem is that it would take me so long to "refresh" my texture collection I use to make icons and banners, and I don't have the time to browse this many months texture entries and such. So I would really appreciate if some of you could recommend me great sets of textures. You all know my style by now, and I would be really grateful.

P.S: A texture update is on the way in a couple of hours. :)

Hey Dear Watchers!

I apologize for the lack of updates these months, I had little time on my hands, basicalyl I haven't really been near my computer for a long long time. I of course made some new large textures and stuff but most of them was lost just recently, because my computer's motherboard and everything went boom, so now I am without Photoshop and other useful programs.

But I promise you that after I get my programs back I will come out with a little update.
What would you like to see the most?
Textures or Graphics?

I am going to rely on your answers!

Sadly, I have to say that I will be away for a couple of days, which may extend to weeks depending on the situation. I am going to update with a lot of things when I get back: icons, textures and the promised tutorials. I am also going to reply some comments.

So, I am sort of wishing for something "exciting" in graphic making at the moment, apart from writing the tutorials, so I was wondering is anyone interested in a collaboration?



The subjects I am interested in are: fashion, stock and Merlin. Of course you can suggest something else as well. After all, creating icons from a fandom I do not know can be challanging and a thrilling experience. ^_^

Anyone up to it? :)

So, yesterday I was getting around the request entry I posted a couple of months ago. I kind of felt it unfair to have it abandoned for so long, although I have to say as for the icons I only chose three pictures each I could comfortably work with. I still have a couple to make, and some of you haven't provided images, so I only made stuff for the people who did. So, if you saved a spot, ...here. and provided no images and still would like to have your request, then please head forward and post me a couple of options to choose from, thank you!

But, moving onto the main subject, I received a couple of tutorial requests, and I usually do not write tutorials, but I got asked so many times along the last year that I decided to give in and write how I usually get around to make icons. These tutorials basically show how I get around preparing the image for colouring, how I colour using colour balance, photo filter and selective colouring, and then after the colouring is done, I show how I use certain textures. I would make a basic general icon tutorial, but there are so many very useful, very great general icon tutorials around there would be no point to repeat that. At the end of my tutorial entries there will definately be a useful list of tutorials I value and helped me develop and grow as a graphic artist.

Anyway, yesterday I sat down and made one fashion and one stock icon, since those are more of my "cup of tea". I am quite happy with the results, especially because finally I can feel my touch coming back after my hiatus and that is definately a good thing! Also, I will post the tutorials as separate entries, because the explaining will be quite long, since I used at least twenty layers with each tutorial. I also saved the stages my icon looks like each step, so you will be able to visually follow the progress. My question would be, would you guys like me to provide the .psd file? It will be a very detailed tutorial, but I can include the .psd if needed. Oh, and the tutorials will remain community only as a bonus for all of you. ^_^

Hello, dear watchers!

Goodness. It is been actually a long while since I went away from LiveJournal and since I actually played around in Photoshop. To tell the truth, I am even scared a little to open it back up, because I feel like I wouldn't know my way around graphics anymore. xP The only occasion I used Photoshop the past few month was to draw, and to make hair textures for a 3D chat programme, so nothing really special. >.>

So, yeah. I thought I say hello, and tell all of you I am still alive, and actually thinking of playing with graphics again. Any suggestions about what to post and stuffs would be bliss. Also I have quite a bunch of texture sets that were private some month ago, but if you guys want I can post those as a 'Lex is actually back and running' thing, with a bunch of older icons I made.

Well with that, since I actually had some kind of relationship with someo of you.. please tell me how are you and stuff, also if you guys want me to check out some posts of yours and comment, just give me a link and I will do it. My friends part is like spammed with lots of entries, so yeah.
