| About: | Update June 7th 2005: If you remember this community as the "Two minute challenge", you're not wrong. This is how it was created by ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} zortified; now that it's been handed over to me it has mutated into the "Three minute challenge", hopefully for the best. The original user info follows, unchanged but for that little timing detail.</update>Three minute fics and art based on a single word. New Magic Words will be posted randomly, but at least once per week. Entries may be from any fandom, or original, and may be slash, het or gen. Real Person fic, (e.g., popslash, LoTRiPs) is permitted. Please put a label OUTSIDE the cut tag if there is adult material. It is suggested that you put the fandom and character(s) outside the cut tag so readers may locate snippets they're interested in reading. This is for writers and artists. The challenge is to see what you can scribble out in two minutes, given one word to inspire you. If you'd like to take part, please do the following: Open a new document, or get a piece of paper and pencil (or whatever you'd like to write/draw with) Find something to time you - an eggtimer or alarm is good. Set it for three minutes. Decide on a character - fanfic, original, whatever. Just pick one person. When you are ready, click on the cut-tag and find out what the magic word is. When time is up, stop. Writers have the option of correcting typos and spelling (I don't know what the drawing equivalent of that is, but if there is one, you may do it.) You cannot CHANGE or expand on anything. All you can do is fix typos and misspellings (and drawing equivalent). Then, post it BEHIND AN LJ CUT TAG. Don't give away the word to anyone who hasn't had a chance to participate yet. | |
