Hi all,
After some debate last night at the GB meeting it was decided to not officially do anything for Norwescon. Collin and Ria wanted a year off, MG is dealing with some personal issues, man power for a party would be limited, with the economy money is tight for not just us but our usual donors, the list goes on.
We will be delivering some fliers advertising our lack of party and are planning on doing something in 2010.
Along with this Collin will be making a call to release the I.S.S. room block. Right now we have several rooms including a family room in 5b and I only have the Nilsson's down for one. Before I release our block did anybody else in I.S.S. need one of our rooms? I will release the rooms after Friday 3/13 so let me know.
The plan for now is to host some events this summer, get back into rockets, and to start really gearing up and trying to get support for I.S.S.U.E. which we are looking to host in 2012 since it could be the year the world ends anyway.
If you have any questions please let me know here or via email.

Did we vote about attending Norwescon at a meeting that I missed? Or do we need to have a meeting soon to do so?
And if we do need a meeting, I have a volunteer opportunity to bring up involving cub scouts and rockets. |

Hi all,
Anybody who’s cell phone number that I have should have received a text to make them aware of tonight’s meeting being cancelled, but for those that did not receive it or for those for whom I do not have a cell number here is a follow up email with additional details.
First of I think that staying safe is always a little better when driving, well unless you can go really fast, and in this case the roads in Mountlake Terrace are still very icy and I would hate to think that somebody got into an accident just to make a meeting.
Second, we would be down 3 folks from the GB which effectively nulls a lot of decision making.
Third, from the list of people that I know were planning to be here, all of them are on the nominations list which makes it impossible to have somebody to act as a Parliamentary officer for vote counting. There are good odds that somebody would be here that could fill that role, but combine the possibility of not having anybody to fill that role with one and two, and it is far better to postpone.
Now with all of that being said, we need to discuss rescheduling… With the holidays coming up here next weekend it is a tough one. Right now I am thinking that we do the meeting on Sunday 12/28 in the late morning or early afternoon. With that I remind people that you DO NOT have to be present to vote. At least 3 of the GB and somebody who can act as a vote counter will still need to be here, but beyond that as a voting member, let me know if you would prefer to vote via phone, and what number we can reach you at. That is right, when it is time to vote and we have the final list of nominees we will call you, so have your phone ready.
So please let me know ASAP if you have a meeting date in besides the 29th and I will make a choice in the next day or two on the time and if that day will work.
Thank you and happy holidays, Collin |

Hi all,
There is a chance that do to the weather and lack of GB people able to make it that we will need to postpone the meeting… Apparently I do not need 3 of here as first thought, but I do need at least somebody to act as a man-at-arms, so the meeting may still need to be postponed. Now if you do not want to leave the comfort of your house the good news for you is that you can vote via a phone call, but you need to let me know so that we can call you when we are ready to collect votes.
Be sure to keep an eye out here and on your cell phones, if I have your number and the meeting is indeed postponed I will send an email and a text message.
Here is the current list of nominees:
• President: Collin M. • VP: Bill B., Sam B. Eli N. • Treasurer: Miriah M. • Secretary: Collin M., James W. • Events – MG S., Chris N., Sacha E.
Currently the only nominations that have been accepted are: • President: Collin M. • VP: Bill B. • Treasurer: • Secretary: Collin M. • Events – MG S.
Here are our election rules from the bylaws:

Howdy all,
It has been a long while! I just want to wish everybody a happy start to the holiday season! I hope you are all doing well.
I would also like to make a couple quick announcements.
First, let’s talk about having a meeting. Elections are in December so it is time to get together and vote on who will be running things for the next few years. Right now as look in my calendar Friday the 19th is looking the best. Anybody have any thoughts on this? I know Ria will be out of town so we will be short a GB person, but we should be okay.
Second, on the nominations front. I have been doing a lot of thinking on this and I think it might be better if I take a small step back, but keep my foot in the game. Thus, while I am keeping my name in the ring for president at the moment I am also putting my name in for Secretary. Along with that I am also that since I have started back to school and been well distracted by that it would be good to have some new direction to get us pointed back into the right direction. Thus I am also nominating Dave A for a turn to jump back into the president and VP seats. I am also going put Chris N. up for Events. Last I check we were still talking about starting a con and if that is plan I would love to see him help to form that part of the organization and that will be a large part of events. Having some youth in the GB would also be a plus, so add Eli N to the VP group.
That makes the current nominations: • President: Collin, Dave A. • VP: Bill B., Sam B., Dave A. Eli N. • Treasurer: Miriah M. • Secretary: Collin M., James W. • Events – MG S., Chris N.
So all of you nominees, feel free to ask questions or decline you nomination. Silence is considered acceptance the way the bylaws have been interpreted.
I think that is about it for now. If you have other date suggestions please let me know ASAP.

Hi all,
Just a reminder that our Rocket event is on Saturday 8/16! We are planning to get the BBQ fired up at about noon and then fire off water rockets and whatever else goes up in the air.
It is a “friends” type event, that means feel free to invite your friends and family.
We would like a general idea of the headcount to expect so we can get enough burgers and dogs to grill so please send us a RSVP if you have not already done so!
Thanks, Collin

After that Ria and I will probably go on a search for dinner and people can feel free to join us for that too.
2 GB members will not be able to make the meeting so no pre meeting for the GB and somebody please remind me that I need to post the notes ASAP and not lose them!
On the agenda thus far:

Norwescon 2009 Pro’s are cons, planning.

Dave’s suggestion: Friends and Family Rocket Day.
I.S.S.U.E. (The name is starting to grow on me) Where are we? Is it going to happen? Thoughts after seeing Sakura / Norwes. Impstar The good, the bad, the suggestions (Dave if you are not able to make the meeting some input on this one would be appreciated)
That is all that I have. If you have anything for the agenda please let me know.

| » Next Meeting |
Hi all,
Okay with all the votes counted we are pretty much at a dead tie for when the next meeting will be so I have chosen Friday 4/25 at 7pm to 9pm.
This allows for us to have our meeting the night before the Norwescon meeting which gives those of us interested in attending that a chance to go with the latest information from our membership.
Also I will take Joe up on his suggestion for watching Battlestar Galactica after the meeting.
Hope to see you here!

Hi all,
Anybody still having problems with impstar e-mail? Everyone should be up and running but be sure to try it out and let Dave know if you are having issues.
In other news it looks like Norwescon and Sakuracon are once again on the same weekend so we will have lots to consider about next year at the next meeting.
I will try to post the next meeting day either tonight or tomorrow. If you have not given me your input on which day you prefer please do so ASAP. Your choices were the 25th (Friday night) or the 27th (proabably late morning or early afternoon).
Thanks, Collin

| » Party in the Box! |
We just wanted to let everybody know that I.S.S. will once again be hosting Party in the Box out in wing 5b, rooms 5231/5233 Friday night with our doors opening up at about 9pm.
With all of the rule changes and enforcements going on for this year things will be different than normal, but we have navigated through the red tape and are back to bring you another year of fun and great food.
Be sure to stop in, say hello, and show your support for us and all of the party groups that are managing to pull off a party with all of this year’s rules.
We will see you in a few days.

| » Next meeting, and impstar.org mail update. |
For those that do not not know Impstar's mail server has been, for lack of better wording, spammed to death. We are working on getting it rebuilt, but for now we are down to web page posts and LJ for mass communications, thus:
Reminder, the last ISS meeting before Norwescon is Sunday 3/9, noon, at Collin and Ria's. There will be a meeting that will be followed by convention prep work. We hope to see you here.

| » ISS Meeting |
Hi all,
I just wanted to give everybody an update about the next ISS meeting… I am pretty sure when it is going to be. We have some new information regarding parties and such, but the party groups are trying to meet up so we can make another run at the hotel and work out cost savings and such. I want to make sure that we have representatives at this next party meeting so I am going to give it couple more days before I make it official.
Right now you can put down a tentative mark on your calendars for Friday 1/25/08. I hope to have the final go/no go email out on that on Friday.
Speaking of 2008, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Everybody be safe tonight, but not so safe that you don’t have fun ;o)
