3:01 am [goomba478]	7 New "One's Wish" Pages! Hey guys, I know it may seem like forever since I've done any updates (so sorry, I am doing a lot though behind the scenes although mostly on our eBay department/internet sales business). I'm working on some new Goin' Postal pages as well as new art for existing sections and PHP scripts. As you know having two jobs and a wife, as well as a side business and a lot of bills really cramps my schedule, but having awesome artists like Ostrich Zero (who did the new 7 pages for "One's Wish" really gives me hope for the site. 12:10 am [goomba478]	5150 Main Page Updated ^_^ On a roll, yes we are ^_^ New format has been applied to 5150. We haven't had any fanart for this series sadly enough but we do have 21 high-quality pages from Jeff (the Moogle). Trust me Jeff, someone will draw for this series soon enough, just as they did for "Voices in My Head" ^_^ Just gotta build our exposure. (Comment on this)

1:32 pm [goomba478]	Clear Blue Eyes - Fanart Section Up! Okay, well it took me a little longer than expected (three days) but I got the Clear Blue Eyes fanart all set up now. This series has 8 fanart pages (including three amazingly cool "Omake" pages from Peregrine Vision which have to be read for all fans of the series) and it took a while, but it's up and running. 3:30 am [goomba478]	New Clear Blue Eyes Layout Although the fanart section and comic history section are MIA (missing in action), I have finished the new layout for the Clear Blue Eyes comic page. For the logo I added a colorized version of Skippy's witch character and made some fine tuning in other areas. As for the HTML, though it's not obvious in anyway to the average viewer, I made some major cleanup changes and finally figured out how to properly use CSS styles. I also removed a lot of unnecessary code which should make it load SLIGHTLY faster on dialup users computers ^_^ Progress feels good. 11:11 am [goomba478]	Updated Artist Profiles Well I was looking at what to fix next on the site and I realized I hadn't updated the Artists Profiles in Ages!! I started off with mine (updated my photo if you're curious) and some of my info and I realized that nearly half of our active artists aren't listed on there anyplace, and the ones who are are outdated in many regards (mostly age/location and stuff like that). So if you haven't yet submitted a profile please contact me and we'll get one up :) If you're not happy with a photo of yourself (though I really do recommend putting one as it seems to be cool to see what our artists really look like), you can submit a drawing or something to represent yourself through an avatar or whatever.... kinda like we did with Skippy there. http://www.improcomics.org/artists/jj.html In my new photo you can see me in my work office here at UConn (University of Connecticut). I have a lot of Soda cans as you can see but I didn't actually drink all of them. I save them up week to week in the office and then recycle them both for environmental reasons and because I like picking up a free nickel (5 cents) every now and then. ^_^ Also on my wall you can see I printed out a free-form Stan drawing I did in flash, as well as a print out of our main page (again in flash), a comic page from "Just Friends", a Chinese Wall Calendar and others. Under my LCD monitor (which I wish I had one at home) you can see a small plastic Goomba I got years ago from McDonald's, as well as my spiffy Zodiac (Palm Device) on the lower left corner. A nice view into my comfy cozy spot at one of my jobs (which this week I'm using to update my site a lot because my boss is out for two weeks and we already finished nearly all of our tasks). 5:31 pm [goomba478]	Teamwork Fanart Uploaded =) I've done my first fanart for newcomer character Clueless from Puzzled's series Teamwork. It might not the most unique of poses or coloring jobs but I'm happy with it over all as I feel it kept the look of the character in tact and it's a good starting place to develop further ideas for when I draw for the comic in time. I'm also doing tons of behind the scenes site work and upgrades which is going along smoothly. Adding this fanart gave me a reason to fix up the "Teamwork Fanart" page and bring it up to date with the new formatting choices I added to the others. 1:47 pm [goomba478]	Goin' Postal Fanart Section Complete! Okay well I finally sat down and made true on my word to finish the Goin' Postal Fanart section. This means the Goin' Postal page is all complete and up to par with the "Just Friends" and "ZiZi" pages. Another one down and only a couple dozen to go ^_^ Luckily, with my new format for the Backburner this should make things a lot easier on me and everyone as the site will soon enough have a uniform look and all the broken links should at last be working. 11:11 am [goomba478]	Backburner Section Complete! Hey Guys! Just wanted you to know that I finished the first flash-only backburner section listed here at: http://www.improcomics.org/backburner.html This way we can hold on to just about all of our old comics, but also keep the site more structured. What I plan to do is this....while these comics are on the backburner, people can still submit for them the way they would any of the others in the spotlight. The difference here is it will allow me to work more on the layout for the ten main comics on the main page first. Once I am all through making the "Comic History" and "Fanart" sections for the ten on the main page, I will evaluate them and see which of them has the least submissions and least amount of hits/readers over the last couple months (similarly to how I used to have the "Top 10"). The one with the least hits will be sent to the backburner and one of the comics from the backburner will make it into the top ten. How's that sound? It's extremely easy for me to implement and this way in a sort of round-robin sort of way, all the comics will come to have their own time to shine, they'll all be updated one by one to match the current standards of listings and hopefully their readership should improve as people come to know them better. In any case enjoy Impy and his psuedo-kitchen for now =) A flash master I am not, but a good improviser I try to be. 9:25 pm [goomba478]	"Just Friends" Page 031 is Up! *wipes forehead* Finally done! I know it took me ages but that's because I shouldn't have signed up for 2-3 comics at once during the same time as redoing the Improcomics.org site design =P Anyhow, I'm pretty happy with how it came out ^_^ Skippy will be taking over the torch for the series now so I'm curious where he intends to bring it. I will be drawing more Goin' Postal now as well as continuing the site revamp. In this page you can see developing tensions between Jhon and a new character and a bit of jealousy within the LLP Shoes store. I experimented a little with using textures as you can see. I realize it's a bit unnatural perhaps, but I wanted to have an effect of Jhon's heart breaking in the last panel and I thought the image of cracking mud matched well, as well as stone background in Joe's background to sort of signify his stone-like selfishness.... a bit abstract I suppose. How cool is this...we get a new artist (Puzzled) who decides to go and do some new pages and fantastic fanart for the long-loved series ZiZi (By Starline Hodge) then we get a new version of the site up along with new fanart section and to top it off, rumor has it that Starline may be redoing some of her earlier pages to match her more current styling and may even draw new pages in the future. 12:07 am [goomba478]	New Html Version Up Well, after receiving complaints today that my HTML version (non-flash version) was linking to local files on my harddrive and that it was horribly outdated. I decided to take a page I was working on as an all-in-one submission page and wrap it up as a new non-flash version. I realize this version is quite simple, but it goes along with the new look and feel for the page. I will be tweaking it as I go along of course, but in the meantime it kills two birds with one stone. I'm not sure how I will be listing the old comics, but I plan on making a back-burner page for this purpose. For now this new html shoes the ten main comics and underneath each you will see the artist who is currently signed up to draw for the series. Not bad eh? I will only list one at a time since at this point it's rare for comics to have multiple signups at one point in time. Enjoy ^_^ Comments are always welcome and appreciated. In a surprise update, Skippy the Klingon (who is now apparently just "Skippy" on the site) has drawn two really cool pages for Puzzled's series Teamwork. The story picks up in a new direction and new characters are introduced. Well guys I got around to shading and posting another page for "Just Friends" (wow can you believe I've had more submissions in the last month than I did virtually the last year...that's saying a lot I hope about my devotion to the site recently, or perhaps my lack of time last year)... You can see a little more of Jhon's "date" (or non-date) with Chrissy and I tried to get it back on track dealing with the differences of men and women when it comes to relationships and dating (just feel Jhon's pain in the second to last drawing)... more to come on page 31 which is pencilled, inked and just waiting to be shaded :) I might do Goin' Postal's next page first though to be fair and alternate between the two. 9:28 pm [goomba478]	"Just Friends" Site Complete :) For the most part, the site for "Just Friends" is all set and will serve as a template for the others to come (which means it'll be a lot easier the second time around). There are now three sections: http://www.improcomics.org/justfriends.html (the main page of course with the comic) http://www.improcomics.org/justfriends-fanart.html (fanart page with descriptions for each fanart) http://www.improcomics.org/justfriends-history.html (history with up-to-date synopsis and summary for comic) I hope you guys like the layout ^_^ I know the flash version is 100% configurable but I'm still pretty limited with HTML... still it should load in all browsers with virtually all monitor resolutions (800x600 and up). I plan to do the other comics with slightly different color schemes (as I did with Teamwork). Any feedback would be great! Puzzled, like her name would imply is a mysterious newcomer from Sweden and she is currently working on some fanart for the new "Teamwork" fanart section! Finally, after being on hold WAY too long, I've decided to pick up where Skippy left off and I plan to fix all the plot holes and sidetracked storylines ^_^ Wish me luck with that haha, Skippy did a lot bringing in new characters, tangents and conflicts...so I'm going to see what I can do. I'm focusing on Stan's relationship with Eileen here as you can see as well as confronting Stan's first real challenge "KaliMurray"-A hentai inspired squid/octopus monster. You'll find out soon what happens as I'm now working on page 35 while simultaneously updating the other pages layouts, and working on page 30 of "Just Friends".
