It is with a heavy heart that I announce the closing of Immortal Sojourns, effective August 19th. The demands of life outside of this realm are increasing for me and I no longer have the luxury of time to devote to the site and forum that I once had....time that is needed to make this place worthy of your time. I shall miss you all terribly. I have found some marvelous friends among you over these past three years and I thank each of you for your friendship. It means more to me than I can say. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives, and for sharing your thoughts, hopes and dreams with me. I will hold dear memories of conversations and experiences, of laughter and the fun we all shared here. Thank you all for helping to make this such a special and enjoyable place and experience…for being a wonderful on line family. It has truly been a joy to be here.
Effective August 19th, the forum will go into read only mode, which means you will still be able to view things, just not interact any longer. Some of us will maintain our Myspace, LJ and other accounts. I will update you all on that as we wind down to a close.

As of now the forum is back in working order and is unlocked. We apologize for the unprecedented down time, and hope that you will continue to enjoy our third anniversary celebrations on the site.

The damage to the forum was initially quite significant, as you have all noted with the template parse error message that has been appearing for the past day or two. This happened as a result of several files in the system self-corrupting and breaking both the forum layout and several source files.
However, I can confirm that the forum is indeed functioning correctly again at the moment, but it has been locked down for now so that some of the smaller errors can be fixed without heavy forum traffic to potentially slow it down. All being well, the forum should reopen tomorrow. *Smiles*

I was actually able to log in a few moments ago, but then when I was on the forum, everytime I clicked on a link I got a box coming up that said "401 Authorisation Required" - asking for my login details again. So I couldn't actually do anything and then it shut me out.
But its cool, I'm patient :-)
Lets hope the Immortals aren't pulling their hair out.

The forum is currently down due to an error that has more or less appeared out of nowhere. It is being worked on, there will be another update when it is fixed or to inform regarding progress with the problem.
We apologize for the downtime and hope to have the forum back up and running as soon as possible.

One more reminder, the forum is down and will be down until Thursday morning. It is admin locked, so only admin can get it. Please do not keep trying to enter your username and password in the popup block, it will not work.
Once we re-open the slaveries and other May events will begin.

I spoke to Lestat a short while ago, and he has informed me that the hosting company are working on the servers today, and so that is more than likely the cause of the site being down. Please do not panic, the site will be restored once the work is complete.

I believe that the site is temporarily down. When I try to access I get a 500 Internal Server Error. I have contacted Lestat. If anyone else is having this problem, please let me know.

This is just a reminder that the forum will be closed for preparations for our third anniversary event. The closure will run between 4/29 and 4/30. An email will go out and further posts will be made to this community and the IS MySpace once it is open again, so please check back for those.

I would ask that you please have some patience with this upgrade. What was originally thought to be a quick and easy upgrade turned into something extremely complicated where the mods don't play nicely with each other.
I know all of you are missing the forum, trust me so are the immortals, but I would ask that you please stop posting about this being torture and being annoyed with us and the site being down. The individual doing the upgrades has been working on it for at least 12 hours a day for 6 days now and is already quite stressed out. (Lestat and I may have to take them out and get them severely drunk after this. Grins) Logging in and seeing all of you complaining about it being down for so long is not very inspirational.
Please, we DO understand your frustration, but we are also asking for a little courtesy and understanding as well. The upgrades are almost done, there has been significant progress but there's a few minor nits (like not being able to post.)
I will post another update as soon as I know more. Thank you.

First off, Happy Easter to all of you. Here's to hoping for a chocolate sugar high, or is that a sugar high from the Peeps? (Don't eat the blue ones, they're suffocating in the packages. Winks)
Second of all, oui... we're still down. The base forum is now upgraded so there is progress being made. It's now just a matter of getting all the mods Lestat wants to work in conjunction with that upgrade that's causing the continued downtime. Our apologies for continuing to be down. Perhaps go pray to the Easter Bunny that all goes well today? Smiles
Will keep you posted as I know more. Enjoy and we promise to hand out lots of Vampire(tm)Oxygen when the site is back up. Grins

Apologies to all, there have been a lot more difficulties with the upgrades than were originally hoped for. Because of these difficulties, it looks like we will continue to be down. We may be up sometime Friday still but no guarantees at this point. Continue to check back here or on myspace, we will post as soon as we're back online.
Watches as some of you get the shakes from withdraws and chuckles softly.
