Directed byMcGonnigal with Music Direction by Ben Cohn, Broadway Loves the 80's Vol. 2 will take place on Monday, November 12^th at 11:30PM at Joe's Pub, 425 Lafayette Street, New York, NY.

The second edition is certain to rock out with the following performers scheduled to appear - Ashley Parker Angel (O-Town, Hairspray), Aaron Albano (…Spelling Bee), Stanley Bahorek (…Spelling Bee), Brad Bass (Wicked), Lance Bass (NSYNC, Hairspray), Kathy Deitch (Wicked), Jared Gertner (…Spelling Bee), Van Hughes (Hairspray), Chris Jackson (In The Heights), Kasey Marino (Hairspray), Julia Murney (Wicked), The Broadway Boys -Danny Calvert (Altar Boys), Steve Morgan (Mamma Mia), Maurice Murphy (…Spelling Bee), Jesse Nager (Mary Poppins),Josh Strickland (Tarzan) and Daniel Torres (The Pirate Queen), Marty Thomas (Xanadu), Tony Vincent (We Will Rock You) and Amy Wren.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Joey DiPaolo AIDS Foundation and Camp TLC, a summer camp for inner-city teens living with HIV/AIDS. Producer/Director Jamie McGonnigal serves as a camp director for Camp TLC and hopes to insure many more years of this inspirational and life-sustaining experience. Hal Sparks: Vader's a Jerk

Just in time for "Hal-entine's Day -- I chat with comedian and actor Hal Sparks about his favorite Star Wars memories, building Hoth landscapes in the backyard, Sith Lord laundry tasks and why Darth Vader will never be his hero in the latest interview for the Star Wars Rocks series on the official Lucasfilm site starwars.com.

Here's a short snippet:
"I recall one afternoon building an entire landscape of Hoth with a crashed snowspeeder, my Millennium Falcon landing on it and all the Star Wars characters running around a tauntaun that had fallen on its side," Sparks continues. "I used all the baking soda in the house to make the snow -- four boxes worth. So when my mom came home to make cookies for a church function and discovered I used a key ingredient to do it, I obviously got into some trouble over that. But it was worth it because it looked awesome."

Watching the films as much as Sparks has, most people might think his favorite scene would be an epic battle, or the dire moment when Han Solo is sinking in carbonite. They'd be wrong. "I love the scene where Yoda eats his food stick and for a moment you are wondering what exactly he's eating," Sparks says. "Because of that I thought in the future all we'd eat would be candy bars. And so I'm a firm believer that while Star Trek is probably responsible for cell phones, Star Wars is most certainly responsible for Power Bars."

"I always wondered which one of the stormtroopers did Darth Vader's laundry," Sparks laughs. "Now that I think about it, it was probably one of the Royal Guards since they're his own personal attachés. Plus they probably know how to properly separate colors from whites since they wear those bright red robes. Could you imagine if they got one of their robes mixed in with Vader's robes? 'Why is everything purple?!' Now that would be worthy of a Force choke!"

Any news on I Love the '80s DVDs? I must say, I'm thoroughly shocked that it's not out. I mean, I'm a broke college student who downloads everything, but I'd buy these DVDs in a heartbeat. This would be a great time to come out with them, too - they'd make a great holiday gift.

Does anybody remember an infomercial from the mid 80's where you could buy this product to make your own quilt?
it would like, pump out little patches, maybe in the shape of flowers? maybe it was an afgan? well when we were like 4, my best friends parents told her they ordered it to shut her up (they never did)...and it would be so funny if i could find it and buy it for her, 20 years later!!! thanks for your help!!!!

So, I know a lot of you don't care too much for him, but I just love Hal. My friend and I drove to Cleveland Thursday night, which is about 3 hours from us in Detroit, to see Hal's comedy show. He was so cute, and absolutely hilarious!!! After the show, we got to talk to him for a little while, I got a picture with him, and he even hugged me! We even met his mom (how sweet that she comes to his shows!). Anyway, I had a blast (it was well worth the drive), and I just had to share.

I Love the 80s is on right now, and they're showing '84. And Hal Sparks was just talking about how after a shower he would call his mom and sister into the bathroom and do the "Terminator Rise" in all the steam. And then he goes "...that was weird...[looks at the camera] don't put that in!!"

I heart that boy...
