welcome to ikichi, a community dedicated to and about the japanese rock band dir en grey.
ikichi was created out of frustration. after being disenchanted by many communites, messageboards and experiences with people within jrock fandom, i wanted to create a more comfortable community with less of the drama factor. myself and many other fans became tired of sifting through pointless entries and comments in other places that seem to have no place in a dir en grey community, ikichi was inevitable. there are no cliques here that you have to worry about ganging up on you, there are attentative moderators to be sure nothing gets out of hand and most of all- we hope to prove ourselves with mature discussion about the band, their music and career.
01. be respectful. this means not only to the mods, but fellow community members. we will not tolerate rude or abusive behavior.
02. keep the discussions on a mature level, please.
03. please, for crying out loud, show some respect for dir en grey not only as musicians but as people. no bantering on and on about kyo's lack of skills in english pronounciation, how "ugly and old" they are, or how much they suck now. we've heard it all a million times over within other communities and we're tired of it, hence why ikichi came to be.
04. no posting of fanfiction. this includes posting links to fanfic and fanfic websites. we're not about that here. if you want to post a link to a dir en grey site that happens to have fanfic on it, that's fine as long as there is content relating to the band outside of the fanfic itself.
05. no typing in sticky caps or using "netspeak". it won't kill anyone to spell out the word "someone" or "anything". netspeak makes people look stupid and it's annoying to read, so please refrain.
06. no advertising other communities with the exception of dir en grey communities.
07. posts about dir en grey items for sale are acceptable.
08. should an altercation happen between you and another member, please bring it to the attention of a moderator. if the issue is not resolved in a way that pleases you, please take it outside the community. there's enough drama elsewhere, we don't need it here.
09. when posting images larger than 300 pixels in width and/or height, use a cut. information on how to use a cut can be found [here].
10. don't claim to have inside information about the band that you can't back up. no rumors or false information, don't even try it here. be able to show a source if you're introducing new information. don't make things up to seem like you know more than you do.
11. keep posts on topic. you may not post things irrelevant to dir en grey. of course while talking in comments, topics stray and that's fine. please just make initial posts related to dir en grey.
12. fanart is permitted, just place it behind a cut.
13. cross posting is allowed .
14. if someone posts any content in the group that they ask you not post elsewhere, please respect that and don't make it public in other places. members are kind enough to take the time to scan and translate things, please respect their wishes on how you may or may not use what they give to the ikichi community members.
15. cursing is fine within the community. i figure, dir en grey fans are familiar with kyo's lyrics so swearing in the community shouldn't be shocking to anyone.
16. file sharing is extremely discouraged but permitted under strict guidelines. it is acceptable to share PVs and video clips and/or small amounts of audio files for sampling purposes only. however, this is NOT in any way meant to be a replacement for purchasing dir en grey merchandise. you may not ask for/offer or distribute full albums nor post more than two songs per album, one song per single. in other words, buy the damn albums and DVDs, [SUPPORT DIR EN GREY]!
use your head and be polite. agree to disagree when necessary.
posting to the community is moderated just so we can have a better handle on what is going into the group. it's an easy way to eliminate spamming and the kind of content we want to avoid. we have four active mods so we can assure posts are approved quickly. ^_^
