Okay, so I have an intel Mac (Macbook)... and I use Crossover, so I can run Wind0ze apps such as Digsby. I am trying to find something to use for Twitter, Facebook, Blogger (definitely those).
I have Adium for IMing for myspace, facebook, yahoo, msn, aim, etc
and Digsby (and with Digsby, Facebook - not the IM part, but the social networking part doesn't work)...
I need something for the following (and the asterisk are definite)...and interaction w/ social networks is nice too:
========================
Social Networks I use:
**Twitter
**Facebook
**Blogger
**Youtube
*Myspace
LJ
Hi5
last.fm
project playlist (playlist.com)
pandora
etc
=============
IM networks:
**AIM
**Facebook
**Google Talk
*Yahoo
MSN
Myspace
================
Clients I've used recently: Adium and Digsby
and with Digsby I ran via CrossOver... (CrossOver is used to run wind0ze apps w/o wind0ze on an intel mac, in my case my Macbook)
I use HelloTxt.com (the website from my web browser)...
<from my googling I saw that HelloTxt is in the process of working on an app). I've googled looking for apps, and have found: -Digsby (where Facebook the interactive social networking part of it doesn't work for some reason)... -I found a few apps that use Adobe-Air -I've found 8Hands -I saw the Flock Browser p.s. - I've used iJournal in the past for LJ...

Hi there! I've been using iJournal for an insanely long time and this is the first time I've had a question, and it might be slightly ignorant, but I'm honestly confused:
What is the difference between "screening" and "security"?
If I set the "screen" to "non-friends", does that make it a Friend's Only post, or does setting the "security" to "friends" do that? Or both?
Thanks for the help, sorry if this is stoopid. :D

Hi there,
I just started downloading and using iJournal today, and I've been really impressed by the program's versatility and interface design. I've been using XJournal for the last year or so and it's met my needs, but with the closed-beta launch of the new Dreamwidth.org journal service, I had to find another client that would allow me to crosspost between DreamWidth and LiveJournal. Many other Mac users are probably going to be in the same boat, and the Dreamwidth service (which is based on the LiveJournal sourcecode) looks like it's shaping up to be fairly popular for many LJ users.
I'm posting here to inquire if you'd be interested in updating the iJournal sourcecode and improving some of the features for the many new users who are going to be scouting around for a new Mac posting client. There are some tech-savvy folks on DW who would probably be interested in this project, and they can probably provide some support if you're willing to work on a new version. I'm also fairly sure that people would be willing to donate a few clamshells if it'd help build upon the great features iJournal already offers.
Anyway, let me know if this sounds like a possibility. If not, thanks for giving us such a good option to begin with, and for working so hard in the past to put together iJournal.

I've been looking for a new Mac LJ client because Phoenix has crashed on me one too many times, losing a huge entry in progress. I'm test-driving both XJournal and iJournal and neither has quite the feel I'm used to, but I'm adjusting.
However today I noticed something that is a total deal-killer for me with iJournal, and wondered if it is something that is intended to be a part of the software. I had a partially-edited entry going, and went to open another entry window to paste in some links for another entry I intended to eventually write. iJournal asked me if I wanted to save my current entry and said if I didn't, my changes would be lost.
Now, I wasn't trying to close the current window, just open a new one. I have tested this multiple ways but it looks to me like iJournal doesn't allow you to have more than one window open at a time. Is this the case? This is totally bizarre behavior, if that's the case. Phoenix, XJournal, heck even Microsoft Word allow you to open multiple documents and work on more than one thing at a time.
I see that there's some inclarity about whether this client is being actively developed and supported, but if someone can comment, I'd appreciate it. I slightly prefer the interface of iJournal to XJournal (whose mechanism for creating image and text links is a bit wonky) but I'm in the habit of always having at least two journal entry windows open, sometimes more, and not being able to do so would totally kill the program's usefulness. I can't imagine I'm alone in working on multiple entries at once.

Hi, all... I've been using iJournal now for about 2 years I think, and I love it. Over the past week or 2 I've been having this problem that seem to be the same problem as in this post from a few months ago that doesn't appear to be resolved as far as I know.
The program loads everything up, but hangs about 5 or 6 images into the "Fetching Your Userpics" phase. It's really driving me batty. I followed the inital suggestion of downloading iJournal_debug and running that with Console, but as far as I can tell the iJournal_bebug app doesn't even TRY to download my icons.
When I run regular iJournal with the console open, it gives me this:
===== Monday, December 8, 2008 3:33:54 PM US/Pacific =====
2008-12-08 15:33:59.108 iJournal[7081] CFLog (0): CFMessagePort: bootstrap_register(): failed 1103 (0x44f), port = 0x3c03, name = 'org.os10.iJournal.ServiceProvider'
See /usr/include/servers/bootstrap_defs.h for the error codes.
2008-12-08 15:33:59.114 iJournal[7081] CFLog (99): CFMessagePortCreateLocal(): failed to name Mach port (org.os10.iJournal.ServiceProvider)
2008-12-08 15:33:59.310 iJournal[7081] *** -[NSComboBoxCell addItemsWithObjectValues:] should not be called when usesDataSource is set to YES
2008-12-08 15:33:59.311 iJournal[7081] *** -[NSComboBoxCell addItemsWithObjectValues:] should not be called when usesDataSource is set to YES
2008-12-08 15:34:03.720 iJournal[7081] *** -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil value
So... any ideas out there? I really love this app and don't want to switch from using it.
Oh, and a far less problematic bug I noticed is that sometimes when I go to "Edit Last Entry" it jumps back several entries for no apparent reason. It probably does it about 1/3 of the time and is mildly irritating.
-- EDIT --
So I figured out that LiveJournal borked on one of my icons and when I deleted the icon and re-uploaded it, it fixed the problem, but THIS should be logged as a bug... if anyone's even bothering anymore.

Is there a way to backup a journal using ijournal? With the upcoming server move I really want to back up my journal before hand... It says on LJ that they recommend doing so thru a client and ijournal looks like the best option to use... Any suggestions?
Can there be an option to store previously used user names to select from the drop down? I have a large number of names because I role play, and it would be so much easier to only have to enter a name once and have it stored. Other than that, I absolutely LOVE iJournal!
I apologize if this is a repetitive question, but I'm using iJournal on my iBook (OSX 10.4.11), but I can not seem get the font to save to my favorite font as a default in iJournal. Can anyone help me?
I searched the blog and the home page for iJournal and must have missed something. Does anyone have any tips? I've tried to even find a place on my iBook to set the default font to Times New Roman 12, but I apparently am not that bright about finding it.

Hello,
I've been using iJournal for around a month and I'm quite happy with it. Lately, though, if I attempt to post after some minutes, which is normal, I suppose, it gives me a server error (unidentified). Is anyone else getting it?
Thank you for your work :)

Can I make the minimum requirement Panther, or are there still people out there using Jaguar?
I like the option that allows iJournal to prefix the subject line with the security filter. However, every time I exit iJournal, it forgets this setting.
It also never remembers my locations I enter. It remembers tags, which I'd love to see in more of a "checkbox" kind of way--or some other way of multiple-selecting tags.
But--other than that, the program is nifty. :) Thanks for it!

I apologize, while putting an unrelated promo in a series of promo communities,
I accidentally put it here. It was an honest mistake and if I had received an actual text reply bringing it to my attention, I would have deleted it sooner.

Hi all,
New user. So far I’m loving it.
I know it got mentioned in earlier comments but I wanted to post it here as it’s own query.
Are there any plans to allow ijournal post to multiple logins - at the same time? ie. write one post and by hitting submit send it to Ij and Lj ?

I'm using v. 1.77, and I can't get it to log in properly. It stalls trying to fetch my user pics (always in the same spot). I've restarted my computer and re-installed the application... anyone have any idea what the problem is or how I can fix it?

It seems that when you log into an account that has several friend group filters defined, the programme does not recognize them fully and when choosing "friends only", it defaults to "public". I have encountered this repeatedly in the last three days of using devel_1 build. In every other aspect, so far, it has run wonderfully. Good job!
I love the fact that you can post to multiple journals. I love the UI, it's neet. I do have two irks though.
1) Why, oh, why does the window clear when switching accounts? Worse, why, oh, why does it clear when I've written something offline and I log in later? There should be a preference somewhere where you can at least write offline (xJournal allowed that). Please please please?
2) Why, oh, why can I not open multiple post windows? (xJournal allowed that). That would rock so loud!
Either feature would make my day.
ETA: The devel_1 version seems to have the latter ability, but InsaneJournal seems to be having an episode at the moment so I can't check if one can log onto multiple journals at the same time. I sure hope it's possible.
ETA: devel_1 built does everything I want it to be. Great!

Hi - Because I'm apparently a techno-cavewoman, I just discovered clients for posting to online journals. I have Semagic now for my PC, which allows me to cross-post an entry to all of my online journals at once (LiveJournal, GreatestJournal, and InsaneJournal).
I'd love to have a client for my MacBook and I've downloaded iJournal, but I can't find a way to crosspost an entry to my 3 journals. Is that possible? If it isn't, can I make this a suggestion for future versions?
Thanks!
(And if there is a way to do it, I need it explained step-by-step. I'm' still new to the Mac world! :) )

Hi, just a small note for a minor addition you might or might not want to make.
I recently attempted to post a very long entry. iJournal told me there was a server error, and to try again later, which I did, several times.
Finally, in frustration, I tried posting directly on the site, which informed me that my post was too large.
I'd've had no clue if I hadn't gone directly to the website. I see their point, having looked at the length of the entry (it's a log of an AIM conversation I had).
Anyway, figured I might suggest ya modify or add that warning instead of the server problem one...
Thanks for your time.

I cannot insert photos. Am I missing something? I've checked everywhere for a possible answer so I'm punting and putting it out for the rest of you.
