Can there be an option to store previously used user names to select from the drop down?  I have a large number of names because I role play, and it would be so much easier to only have to enter a name once and have it stored.    Other than that, I absolutely LOVE iJournal!

Question about Fonts

  • Jan. 1st, 2008 at 11:49 AM
I apologize if this is a repetitive question, but I'm using iJournal on my iBook (OSX 10.4.11), but I can not seem get the font to save to my favorite font as a default in iJournal. Can anyone help me?

I searched the blog and the home page for iJournal and must have missed something. Does anyone have any tips? I've tried to even find a place on my iBook to set the default font to Times New Roman 12, but I apparently am not that bright about finding it.

server error

  • Sep. 24th, 2007 at 10:01 AM
Hello,

I've been using iJournal for around a month and I'm quite happy with it. Lately, though, if I attempt to post after some minutes, which is normal, I suppose, it gives me a server error (unidentified). Is anyone else getting it?

Thank you for your work :)

anyone still using 10.2.8?

Can I make the minimum requirement Panther, or are there still people out there using Jaguar?

I have 1.77 on OSX 10.4.10

I like the option that allows iJournal to prefix the subject line with the security filter. However, every time I exit iJournal, it forgets this setting.

It also never remembers my locations I enter. It remembers tags, which I'd love to see in more of a "checkbox" kind of way--or some other way of multiple-selecting tags.

But--other than that, the program is nifty. :) Thanks for it!

I apologize, while putting an unrelated promo in a series of promo communities,
I accidentally put it here. It was an honest mistake and if I had received an actual text reply bringing it to my attention, I would have deleted it sooner.

Mutiple Journal Posts

  • Aug. 27th, 2007 at 8:02 PM
Hi all,

New user. So far I’m loving it.

I know it got mentioned in earlier comments but I wanted to post it here as it’s own query.

Are there any plans to allow ijournal post to multiple logins - at the same time? ie. write one post and by hitting submit send it to Ij and Lj ?

Problem with v. 1.77

  • Aug. 25th, 2007 at 9:52 PM
I'm using v. 1.77, and I can't get it to log in properly. It stalls trying to fetch my user pics (always in the same spot). I've restarted my computer and re-installed the application... anyone have any idea what the problem is or how I can fix it?

Small bug in devel_1 build

  • Aug. 14th, 2007 at 11:32 AM
It seems that when you log into an account that has several friend group filters defined, the programme does not recognize them fully and when choosing "friends only", it defaults to "public". I have encountered this repeatedly in the last three days of using devel_1 build. In every other aspect, so far, it has run wonderfully. Good job!

Just downloaded iJournal

I love the fact that you can post to multiple journals. I love the UI, it's neet. I do have two irks though.

1) Why, oh, why does the window clear when switching accounts? Worse, why, oh, why does it clear when I've written something offline and I log in later? There should be a preference somewhere where you can at least write offline (xJournal allowed that). Please please please?

2) Why, oh, why can I not open multiple post windows? (xJournal allowed that). That would rock so loud!

Either feature would make my day.

ETA: The devel_1 version seems to have the latter ability, but InsaneJournal seems to be having an episode at the moment so I can't check if one can log onto multiple journals at the same time. I sure hope it's possible.

ETA: devel_1 built does everything I want it to be. Great!

Cross-posting to multiple journals?

  • Aug. 6th, 2007 at 7:49 PM
Hi - Because I'm apparently a techno-cavewoman, I just discovered clients for posting to online journals. I have Semagic now for my PC, which allows me to cross-post an entry to all of my online journals at once (LiveJournal, GreatestJournal, and InsaneJournal).

I'd love to have a client for my MacBook and I've downloaded iJournal, but I can't find a way to crosspost an entry to my 3 journals. Is that possible? If it isn't, can I make this a suggestion for future versions?

Thanks!

(And if there is a way to do it, I need it explained step-by-step. I'm' still new to the Mac world! :) )

Hi, just a small note for a minor addition you might or might not want to make.

I recently attempted to post a very long entry. iJournal told me there was a server error, and to try again later, which I did, several times.
Finally, in frustration, I tried posting directly on the site, which informed me that my post was too large.

I'd've had no clue if I hadn't gone directly to the website. I see their point, having looked at the length of the entry (it's a log of an AIM conversation I had).

Anyway, figured I might suggest ya modify or add that warning instead of the server problem one...

Thanks for your time.

posting photos

I cannot insert photos. Am I missing something? I've checked everywhere for a possible answer so I'm punting and putting it out for the rest of you.

but are suggestions for the next versions ok?

well i think having a spell check would be nice (sorry im just a spoiled firefox user and am so used to having a red line underline my incorrect spellings)
and a way to have more than one journal posts in the works up at once (or can i do that and im just not seeing that?)

but really this thing is the dogs bollocks!

Hi, I'm thinking of jumping ship from xJournal as the developer has abandoned it and I can't find source code/don't yet have the programming skills to update it myself.
There's one quirk of iJournal that is bugging me though.
When you load the program it fetched userpics off the server. The program is unresponsive until that's done. Is there a way to cache the userpics to the harddrive. Fetching userpics means there is a good 30-60 second wait after loading the program (over a hundred userpics) and means I can't use iJournal "offline"(as iJournal is unresponsive until it has fetched the pics) to compose a post to post later.
So can it either a) cache the userpics and just check for changes on login. or b) just fetch a list of pics and download the image when selected?
Other than that, the program looks great and having in several the features that xJournal didn't have.

bug?

  • Apr. 20th, 2007 at 11:06 PM
I've been having some problems getting comments emailed to me when I posted either to my LJ or to communities using iJournal. I was, however, receiving comments posted in reply to comments I would post on my friends posts. It just clicked with me tonight when I posted to LJ using their interface and received the comments in my email.

Is this a known bug with iJournal?

Limit on length of password?

  • Apr. 11th, 2007 at 11:39 AM
Hiya!

I used iJournal for about a week, and it absolutely rocked - hard enough to make me switch from what I was using.

Then I changed my password to something long (over 10 characters) and hard to break. I can still post to my LJ from Flickr, XJournal, and LJ itself - but not from iJournal. Every time I try to log in, it asks me for my password.

Again.

And again.

And again.

And then I give up, and use another client, and everything is fine.

Does iJournal only transmit passwords up to a certain length? This is the only thing I can think off, off the top of my head. iJournal is so superior to everything else that I'd really like to go back to using it.

iJournal test version available

  • Mar. 21st, 2007 at 5:47 PM
Due to the number of changes that were made to the code, I want some testing before I roll a new rev out to everyone. Mainly, I'm looking for differences in how the client acts, crashes or unusual behavior in connection to network (when waking from sleep and trying to post, OS version incompatibility, etc). Please submit all bug reports to http://bugs.warped.com

Side-drawer for in-progress entries

  • Feb. 7th, 2007 at 10:37 AM
I think a great addition to iJournal would be a side-drawer (like in Preview, for instance), where all in-progress entries can be viewed. This would enable users to work on multiple entries throughout the day, posting them as each one is ready. I realise that in-progress entries can be saved, but a side-drawer would make access to them easier and clearer.

Update List of Tags from Server?

  • Feb. 2nd, 2007 at 10:18 PM
Hopefully I'm not bringing up old news, but I would just like to share my situation:

I have just recently started going back and tagging a lot of my older entries, doing so via the website rather than using the client. Now, I am having a problem with getting iJournal to recognize the tags I applied to those old entries so that I can apply them to my new entries.

I assumed the list of tags that iJournal shows would be updated from the server when I logged in, the same way userpics and newly-joined communities are, but it has not been. The program (v 1.77) is only showing the tags that I have specifically added to posts using the client.

Am I doing something wrong? If not, is this feature something that can be added to a later version? I really enjoy using iJournal, and I'd love to see its development continue.

Thanks!
