I have tickets to see Regina at the El Rey theatre at the end of the month (SOO EXCITED). I've only had the pleasure of seeing her once before (FINALLY) at the Beacon Theatre in NYC, and that was assigned seating. How soon should I show up for a show of hers that is in a standing venue? The doors open at 8. How early should I arrive to hopefully be one of the first in line? I'm willing to camp out. :] |

| Code(s) for download of EP |
[Jun. 25th, 2009|08:06 pm] |
Hey everyone! I hope this is allowed.
I bought three tickets to Regina's upcoming show in Toronto and therefore received some codes with which to download a digital EP containing the Laughing With video, along with The Calculation and Eet (mp3s). I gave two of them to my friends, but i am not planning on using mine.
If anyone would like my code for this free download, please comment or send me an LJ message so i can give it to you!
The other two codes may become available if my friends decide not to use them, but i have yet to hear back from them.
ETA: I've given away two codes now, and still have not heard back from my other friend. If she says she's not using hers i will make a new post. |

I got Far on Vinyl and apparently it comes with a copy of the CD as well (I say apparently because I don't want to open it since I don't have a record player right now.) |

Hello! Three or four years ago, I drew a portrait of Regina on a pair of old jeans I had. The lyrics of Braille are contained within the portait.

( +more )
Anyone interested in them? I figured I'd ask in a fan community before throwing them out! |

| Converting Registentionalists? |
[Jun. 25th, 2009|09:15 am] |

| | happy | ] | My boss just came into my office all excited because he'd heard Regina on the radio this morning - NPR's All Things Considered - and he knew that I loved her. (I have a picture of the two of us together hanging right by my computer and about twenty ticket stubs hanging around.) He was really stoked about the new album and borrowed my copy to put on his computer. He was really excited to hear it and he said that hearing her talk on the radio made him realize what I'd been going on about all this time.
I love converting people!
Also, the more I listen to certain parts of Far the more I fall in love with it. I've even committed the seemingly great sacrilege of liking "One More Time With Feeling" um...better on the album than I did live. Please don't throw rocks, haha.
(As an aside, if anyone can find the NPR interview online, I would love you forever!) |

| Pitchfork reviews Far |
[Jun. 23rd, 2009|09:58 pm] |
Pitchfork just put up their review of Far. It's pretty Pitchforky. It's kind of like a character attack, actually. I was a little surprised at the aggressive tone. I don't think the Pitchfork reviewers realize that it's not Soviet Shtick, it's just how she is.
What do you guys think? I personally love her quirkiness, it really never occurred to me that it's an affectation. I just think it's Pitchfork trying to find something to be cynical and knowing about. |
