I'm an 18 year old high school graduate. I spent 6 days at the nation's 9th largest university and high-tailed it back home to my OWN room. Now I'm back, starting community college soon, and my room is in total disarray. Half of my stuff is here, the other half is still at my dorm, and I'm hoping for some advice about:

*some cute additions I could make to my room
*possible furniture rearrangement (Please note that my TV has to sit on the bookcase in front of my bed, sadly, that's where the cable is... D:)
*possible paint ideas! :D

I was considering something grey/blue, light green, khaki/sandish. If it helps, I have paint samples from BEHR, and I liked the following colors: snow leopard, pensive sky, mystical sea, oat straw, restful, expedition khaki, pebble path, ground ginger, desert camel, and outback. 8]

Feel free to post any pictures of your own as well. :] I'm just trying to make my room more "mature," probably with less posters, and possibly poster frames this time around.

My house will be done in about three weeks, and I'll be moving in 4-5 weeks, and I'll post pictures whenever I can! xo

So I am at the new house with my boyfriend (where i cant officially live yet blahblahblah) and I am trying to think of little things here and there we need to buy to fill up this huge new space.

Some obvious:
furniture (sofa, chairs, dining table eventually, some other furniture im bringing from home eventually)

some already acquired:
silverware, dishes, pots, pans, food!, cleaning supplies, kitchen appliances, bed, dresser, towels, computer, telephone, lamps, candles (but i want more), a stereo, soaps, shampoos, razors, scrubbies, blankets, sheets, pillows, (extra bed coming soon for guest room/the cats room), two(yes only TWO! tiny even) framed horse art on the wall, a broom, a trash can, and silverware holder/organizer, dish towels, scissors, measuring tape, air freshener, a fan, two stools we use to dine at the counter-top

okay so basically, my point of this is for you all to help me compile a list of things we might need or want here, so I can slowly accumulate them for us before I'm even officially living here

My name is Marina, 20, law student/ medical administration extraordinaire from Sydney, Australia. I'm a fashion addict and couture shoe & bag fiend.

the girl who lived in my room before me had left her furnature, she was low on cash and wanted me to buy it. I was lower on cash and couldn't... My friend gave me a desk and a dresser bc he's moving out of the country but I'm still left w/o a bed.

My room is a decent size considering the apartment overall is pretty small, it has good light and I feel like it would be more welcoming as a hang out area and give me even more room if I had a Futon. Also, the boyfriend and I are planning on moving in together when our seperate leases are up in the spring so it would make more sense to get that so we have furnature we can use instead of 2 beds.


The problem is I'm pretty low on cash, but I still want something nice and am not really willing to look on craigs list because it would be nice to have something new to sleep on for the first time in about 8 years. The most I would be able to spend is 200 but i'm looking for something closer to 150. I know i'm not going to get any beautiful artful piece of brand new furniture for this price but I would like something fun/cool/trendy if at all possible. I'm wondering if you could point me anywhere other than the obvious kmart, target etc websites?
