New Kat McPhee Fanclub!

Hey all-Kat McPhee has a new fan club (click here to check it out). I have been a member since last summer when I joined for access to see her perform on the American Idol Tour (got 5th ROW tickets!) and have been very pleased with the club. Kat is very involved with the club – she frequently uses it as a means to privately communicate with members through special audio and video messages. There are also a ton of great fan club-only contests (there’s currently an autographed merchandise giveaway going on), along with lot’s of extras, exclusives, access to tickets and a mystery gift when you join!! I highly suggest checking it out and getting connected if you are a fan of Kat – you won’t be disappointed!

Sorry for neglecting this community guys. I've decided to get it rolling again, but without themes for now. If you have pictures of our Season Fivers that you want to share, go ahead. Otherwise, I'll be posting as often as I can, and hopefully with new pics of the Idols whenever I come across them. For now, here's some goodies from a pretty hot Taylor shoot to get the wheels rolling. You may have already seen them, but if you haven't... well, just see for yourself. ;)

Theme Week

I'm posting three screencaps from the finale... I didn't take them myself, but dj43 took them, and I got them from dj_capslock. I couldn't find the picture I wanted, so I'm posting three screencaps from that moment. :D

In case you don't remember... this was during the Burt Bacharach medley, and the Idols were singing That's What Friends are For. While they were singing, Elliott put his arm around Taylor, and Taylor put his arm around Elliott. I loved that moment. :) I couldn't find a good cap of that in my folder, so I posted three of them. :)

theme week #1

New week, which means a theme this time. This week's theme is Public Displays of Affection, which means pictures of the contestants hugging, holding hands, etc. This is one friendly group of contestants, so I doubt this theme will be hard at all. Have a good time with it and post as many picturs as you'd like!

Hello everyone!! I saw a post about this community in the Chris Daughtry and Elliott Yamin communities, and I thought this community was a great idea (plus I need an Idol fix... whatever shall I do with my Tuesdays and Wednesdays now??). :D

Anyway, I come bearing pictures of Taylor Hicks (ironically enough... lol). I saw Taylor when he came to Birmingham for his top 3 trip, and I took all these pictures myself, good and bad. lol I'm so glad he won... he's the first Idol contestant of any type I've seen in person (despite watching all 5 seasons). :)

I put six under the cut, and all are thumbnails.

I have an LJ album with these pics (and more) here. I tried putting descriptions in, but it didn't work for some reason. If you want clarification on a pic, then let me know. :D

This is just to cut down on the number of needless posts in the community. If you have a question, I request that you please ask it here rather than creating a new post for it.

Q: Can I post my graphics and icons in here? They're all AI:5, I swear.
A: Again, no. No icons, headers, or graphics, and I would prefer no manips, but, if you must...

Q: I'm new to LJ and don't know how to cut my pictures. I don't really have to cut them, do I?
A: Oh, but you do. Scroll down a bit for the how-to on LJ-cutting. Or you can just use the rich text format, and it will do it for you. But please, please cut all pictures.

Q: So the theme is nice, and everything, but I have a picture that I really, really want to post and it doesn't fit with the theme. Can I post it?
A: Well, here's the deal. Mostly likely, every other week or so will be a free week. However, if the demand becomes high for a non-theme related post, I'll probably end up designating one day during every theme week where you may post non-theme related pics, or if there is a large publicity event where pics of the ex-contestants will be plentiful and in heavy supply, then you may post them. But otherwise, no - you may not post unrelated pics during a theme week.

Q: I have a great theme suggestion. How do I suggest it?
A: You may leave it in a comment to this post (I will be checking frequently) or on the welcome post. Please do not e-mail me with theme suggestions or other things that can be adressed with the community.

If you have a question, please don't hesitate to ask. I will also be adding to this post as issues/questions arise.

Welcome to idol5_daily, your daily picture community for American Idol season 5. This community was created mostly due to summer withdrawal, and I'm hoping you guys can appreciate that and maybe we can help each other make it to next season.
