Okay so if the rule states when posting a preview, you can have a maximum of three icons, I would say posting twelve would be taking it too far.

So I post icons. Two different fandoms.. Jonas Brothers and Watchmen. No biggie right? Well I guess it is. I know it's weird to put the two together.. but I've had numerous comments to the tune of how do jonas brothers and watchmen go together
Last time I checked I could post icons of whatever I wanted.

Dear *insert name here*,
The rules say you must include reasons for your least favorite icon choices. You chose not to include the reasons. Fair enough. So, I commented with a polite reminder to include reasons. This is what you commented back with:
I just don“t like the pic.. does this count?! hu.. sorry..
o_0
Um. No.
Sorry, it doesn't count.
*eyeroll*
Just read the rules, mkay?
And as a side note, just because you're on my f-list doesn't mean you get special treatment.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm really annoyed by those icons where the cap is someone with an open mouth, and the icon has text with the letter O in it and the open mouth is the O.
Because that explanation doesn't really make sense, here's an example (I made it, ignore it's crappiness):

And half the time, the mouth isn't even really in a circle so then I'm sitting here going "What does L L mean" Or " MG" or whatever.
I don't know, it bothers me.

The ffffound posts are getting to be about as annoying as the "I want to laugh, I want to cry" texture IMO. Can we agree as a community to stop posting about it? I think we all get it by now. Some people are really against it, some people don't care -- let it be already.

In someones community userinfo
Any textures I work on will be public, however my graphics will be friends-locked within a week. You must join to see that stuff. If I do work on textures, most of the pictures may be from fffound. I take no credit for these pictures and they belong to their respectful owners.
If they do then don't use them. And just because you don't take credit for it doesn't mean you can still use them.
You want people to read your rules but you refuse to read other people's rules
BE ORIGINAL PEOPLE. And I know your a member here and I don't care you see this. You shouldn't do this in the first place.

Why would we do that with those fffound texures. You already did it.
My fault. Misunderstood.

Another texture set made from FFFOUND pics is signed as "created" by the posting person. And guess what?! Sure the password is to be begged.

Helpful hints if you're planning on yoinking my old icons, slightly altering the coloring, and then claiming them as your own:
1) Don't use icons that have text or other easily recognizable unique features. 2) Don't post using said icons in communities I am active in.

i am still failing to see the point of password locking textures, etc. all i see is someone who is so obsessed with getting comments (because some people don't) that they force people into it by saying 'comment for the password'.
maybe it's cause i'm lazy and don't want to sit around and wait for a password, especially when i have inspiration to actually make icons at that current moment but idk. it's not a huge deal - it's just a pet peeve.

Urgh. I hate it when people post two/three icons as teasers, and you go to the whole post to view more, only to see that the teasers were the ONLY icons of that fandom in the whole 78493-icon post.
Seriously, DON'T. Fuck.

I think it's annoying when people charge money for their graphics, especially when they aren't even that great to begin with. I can understand if you're doing an in-depth work of art or something, but making a few bad icons should not cost people money.

Okay, I'm all for variation style icons but... posting 41 icons with slightly different cropping and different movements of the SAME text isn't interesting. You can't really crop it 3px to the left and say it's a different icon. It really isn't. DX

Dear LIMS Participants, (which is not one on LJ, btw)
- After all this times you sent your entries in, voted, after all these months...are you still not able to differ between good icons and crap ones? And those icons you like are worst crap, they really are.
- Then stop telling people who were voted out for a reason, things like "But actually I liked your entry" after you voted them out before. It is NOT going to help them improve, when you tell them that their entries are good just to suck up to them.
- Congrats, you are awesome and you can do animations. Yay go you.
BUT for the sake of everything, stop making useless 2 frame animations, animations that make no sense. Just because you can do it, doesn't mean that you should do it all the time.
- And please please please there are enough tutorials in this world, where you can learn new things and really improve your icons. It doesn't hurt to try them out, you know? I am sick of seeing no improvement in a lot of people's work even after a lot of time.
No love, Me

I just found this preceding a fashion icons post:
"Fashion / Models / Celebrities (Mainly fashion models. I kind of threw in some celebs as well though. I hope you don't mind ). I'm really happy with today's two icon entries, I think most of the icons came out quite well, if I may say so. Don't ask my why I didn't post this at my community cause I don't know. But I do kind of feel like I don't have the time, to run two journals all by myself at the same time. Hmm... I'm thinking of having this as both personal/graphics journal. We'll see. I'm making older icon/graphic entries public over at ******. So if you want to view my other icons go there. Don't forget to read the rules here."
please tell me more about your life story, I'm really interested :|

This was included in a set of "textures". The rest of the "textures" were ffffound images just cropped. I remember a time when stealing was considered wrong. What ever happened to that idea?
ETA: And of course the iconmaker in question is the kind of person who wants credit for everything - even if you use a tutorial. So they, of all people, should understand stealing = bad. Backwards mentality, you have there...

This community was specifically created for Christian icon creators, and you can use the icons ONLY if you're Christian.
What? Are you fucking kidding me?? The fandom doesn't have anything to do with religion. But I'm an atheist. So no icons for me, I suppose. WTF. O_O

| What's up with all the textures? |
[22 Feb 2009|06:41pm] |

I'm not hating on textures for real. But it seems like everyone has stopped making brushes and started making textures. I don't get it myself. They are just cropped pics, anyone could do that themselves.
*edit* Sorry if I seem to have insulted texture makers. I'm just going on what I've seen posted as textures.
Either way I miss the brushes people used to post.
