Animation using ImageReady 7.0 help
I've read through many of the tutorials here and unless I've missed it I can't seem to find this problem. Any help anyone can give me would be wonderful.

Problem:
I would like to make a mini movie type icon. On Adobe Photoshop Help web link I looked up how to open/import video files to make animated icons with and it said "You can open movies in MOV, AVI, and FLIC formats to view and edit in ImageReady" it also gave a how told me how to open QuickTime-compatible movies. I don't have/use QuickTime (I use Windows Media Player) but I have short films file which are AVI. I opened one using the steps they said to use and when it opens (showing me each frames I've chosen) and they are all white. I've tired different movies, different amount of frames etc but it always comes up white instead of the pictures. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Am I going about this completely wrong?

Program: Adobe ImageReady 7.0

Skill level beginner who knows nothing and nothing.

Problem not solved

Hmmm, you're using PS7? Because if I recall correctly it doesn't support avi's, at least anytime I tried to open one with it wouldn't work... the info on Adobe's site is probably for the latest version which is CS3.

I'm not using PS7, though I do have it for making still image icons. I'm using Adobe ImageReady 7.0, I can open animated icons in it and view/edit them find. I can even make the icon I'm using now with it. Course I only know how to make two frames move but still it works.

That's still an older version of Image Ready. They don't even make Image Ready anymore, it comes as part of Photoshop now, not as a seperate program. I would just make sure that the info you have is pertaining specifically to your version.

oh I didn't know that. I found that info in the help tab, it comes up as a online page so maybe it's not the right info:(

I've checked and it's the right help page for the program I'm using. And everything it tells me to do works but any movie file comes up white in it's flames. It's also white in "select range" when I go to select my frames. I also tired 'importing folder' (I put the WMP file I wanted to use in folder and hit import) still came up the same thing.

I then tried to import a folder with just screen caps in it and it open all of them fine. Not one white frame.:D It's really weird. If I knew how to make screen caps I don't even need to deal with this problem. I'd just put what I wanted to work with in a folder and import it for use.
