Please Help
I'm very, very new to icon making and I've read through a lot of posts on this community, but I haven't found any that pertain to what I use and what I need, though I've found most of the tutorials wonderful.

I use Paint.net and I like it because it's pretty easy to use. However, I like to make icons from mangas and they are all black and white. I would like to be able to color the icons I make without making them look awful.

I like the way the colored icon looks. The colors are great and they look like someone took colored pencils to it. Are there any tutorials available for coloring icons in Paint.net? I do have Gimp, but I have no idea how to use it and find Paint.net a lot easier.

I'm not familiar with paint.net but as long as you can use different layers on it, you should be able to follow any basic manga color tutorial. oo
here is one by [info]tininess that I just discovered and looks interesting. And I've made a tutorial list a few days ago with a few different manga coloring tutorials here. I hope that helps you some how ^^; Also try out [info]toon_tutorials, it might have what you're looking for.

Hey fellow Paint.net user! I can't really help you out with this specifically (I don't make manga icons!), but it's always thrilling to find other people who feel the Paint.net love. :) Psst. Paint.NET forums. They're a pretty helpful bunch over there.
