LIMS Challenge #1

Alright, so here's the first challenge for all of you who wanted to participate in the LIMS challenge. You will be required to make one icon on each of the three pictures provided. Since this is the first week, there will be NO theme. Do what you wish with the icons!

The only rules for this challenge is make sure they are LJ sized and please no gifs. Otherwise, be creative! Also, I just want to point out that if you signed up you must participate in this challenge. If you miss this one, you wont be able to participate in future challenges. Just something funny I thought I'd share-

Today I was babysitting my (soon to be) nephew and he was very excited to show me all his old hockey player figures. I thought they were hilarious so I snapped a pic to show. Turns out Lemieux was my fiance's when he was young and he's pretty mad that his two year old nephew has been using it as a chew toy lol!

From top to bottom (left to right) we've got:

Joe Sakic, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Pavel Bure, and John Vanbiesbrouck. All but the Sakic and Gretzky figures looked pretty worn and torn.

I lol'd for about 5 minutes after I saw that. It's going to be in hockey blooper reels for years. I'm glad Stamkos took it with a good laugh- honestly, I'd be psyched to be on either end of a hilarious check like that.

Hey IWP.

I was thinking of maybe holding a LIMS (last icon maker standing) contest here. Basically it's kinda like an icontest, but you start out with x amount of players and every week someone gets voted off until you have one icon maker left!

To make it more community orientated, since not everyone has photoshop we would have you guys submit pictures to use for the weekly challenges. So every week every person participating would use the same picture and create a unique icon with it. Then everyone would vote for their favorite.

So this all depends on interest. The amount of people interested will be the number of weeks it'll go on.

Let me know what you guys think, and if you would like to sign up say so in the comments below!

Tonight my Avalanche played the Flyers, the new home of one of my all time favorite Avs player Ian Laperriere. Obviously, I was rooting for the Avs, but I also wish the best to Lappy because I miss him like hell.

So I was wondering, how do you guys feel when a favorite ex-player plays your team? Does it bum you out to see them playing in another uniform, or are you more about team loyalty than player loyalty?

As a follow up to a post made by cathybites , the Rangers recently hosted a fan forum with appearances by Henrik Lundqvist, Marc Staal, Ryan Callahan, Brian Boyle, and Enver Lisin. The guys were funny, answered questions, made fun of each other (and made fun of players who weren't there), and gave away jerseys. I was quite sad to have not won a jersey, but my father won a signed Gaborik puck.
