cat needs new home
So unfortunately, i have to find my baby Teak a new home. Believe me, it really breaks my heart. 3 year old black cat with white spot on abdomen 18 pounds (yes i know, BAD) indoor/outdoor fixed and has all shots, current until April 2010 i suggest no small children. other cats are ok, dogs may be iffy but i'm willing to do a trial run if you would be willing to try to give him a home. there are a couple of reasons he needs a new home. first of all, he is getting beat up by a neighbor's cat. there are other cats around, but i know it's this one cat because i've seen it several times. i have had to take Teak to the vet multiple times this year for injuries and infections. keep him inside you say? no, that just won't work. in fact, i tried it. he was inside for 3 whole months. the longer he was inside, the more angry he got. and this just won't work with a human baby on the way. he's just got to be in a home he can go outside. i do admit, he can be mean. which is why i suggest no small children. but with past experiences with visitors, he just might hate you on day one, but by the next day he'll be sleeping in your lap. i'm putting a couple of pictures behind the cut. if there's any other info you would like feel free to ask. Eye Doctors
I'm considering getting LASIK surgery here in the next six months or so, before my insurance runs out. Can anyone recommend a good doctor to see for the procedure, or a doctor to stay away from? What are your experiences with this? Thanks so much! |

Vet Information
I am considering taking in a homeless pup but I want to be sure that I can afford all of the things puppies need. Can anyone suggest an affordable or discount vet for first shots and all that stuff? I have no idea what the usual fees should be but because I know it's going to be expensive getting all the things for a puppy, I don't want to go broke just on the shots and vet things. Thanks in advance for you assistance! |

Looking for family doctor
My husband and I are looking for a new family doctor. Our current doctor is just not cutting it - the waits are ridiculous (I know some wait is to be expected, but sitting in a waiting room for 2hrs with a 101+ fever and about to pass out is not acceptable)and the last straw was when our doctor decided to go on a trip for two weeks without notice or leaving a referring doctor. So, we are looking for a new family/general doctor. We live in south Huntsville, so someone no farther north than Drake would be great. Any recommendations? Thanks! |

art student desperate for cash is willing to whore out his skills for a lil scratch. Giving Art lessons for 30 dollars a day! subjects include: basic drawing anatomy basic photoshop digital painting perspective life drawing photomanipulation (proceeding from basic photoshop) basic figure drawing advanced figure drawing comic style drawing inking color theory visual storytelling you will need to provide your own materials, il give you a well before class so you will know what to bring. we'l also need to arrange for a space, i don't mind coming to someones home or meeting in public, but i myself don't have an available space. this would be great for teens who are interested in developing they're artistic skills. one-on-one tutoring can ease the process of learning some pretty difficult stuff. to see a sample of my work, visit my Deviant Art page at http://thecosmicgoose.deviantart.com/if your interested, E-mail me at thecosmicgoose@yahoo.com, Aim at thefetherdone or leave me a message here. |

Runners doing the Mountain Mist?
Just wondering if there are any local ultra runners here on list... I'm registered for the Mountain Mist 50k Trail race in January, but it'll be my first MM. I could use a trail buddy and some advice. I'm already training up at Monte Sano, but I don't know all the trails well yet. I also generally suffer from being "directionally impaired" and am getting a little paranoid and fretful about always running alone. I think it would be useful to have a partner lead me through some of the tougher portions of the course. (And then I can train like hell on them for the next 10 weeks.) Yesterday was just TOO nice a day not to go to the park and hit the trails. However, it was also a bit discouraging---as I stated off trying to follow the McKay's Hollow trail, but lost the trail markings about a mile in and gave up and turned around! All the falling leaves made the trail hard to follow, and the yellow paint blazes must of blended in with the Autumn colours too. Oh, well, McKay's is a bit technical anyway, and I guess I didn't need to be pushing it as I'm tapering for the Flying Monkey Marathon in Nashville in two weeks.. Besides, didn't want to twist an ankle or get lost or something equally stupid. So, ended up just doing some of the easier trails, as well as roads in the park and Bankhead to and from 5 Points. I feel I've got a fairly decent mileage base (45-55 miles per week and am participating in marathons in Nov and Dec), but I could use some support on the trail aspects of Mountain Mist training. I know it's going to be a major challenge for me, but I'm determined to give it my best effort! |

Warning!
If you are in the Huntsville/Providence/Madison area and are looking for a room mate, please beware of taking in Matt Norman and his dog, Taylor, into your home. Please read this link for a bit more information into it.He was my roommate and I had to literally punch his dog in the face four times until it finally went unconscious and let go of Frankie after three other people were unable to get Taylor off of Frankie. This dog has acted slightly aggressive to my two young sons and VERY aggressive to the Chinese foreign exchange student we had living with us at the time. All I ask is that you be VERY weary of letting this dog into your home, especially if you have other animals or small children. Thank you. |

FOUND: Female Husky near Grissom High School (Huntsville)
At 8:30pm, my neighbor found a female husky (approximately 12-18 months old). Because we have a husky, we took her into our garage for safety tonight. We would let her in but she's heavily infested with fleas. If anyone has lost a very loving sweet natured husky, please contact me ASAP. We will be contacting the animal shelter tomorrow to have her taken in for a tag and proper care. No, we will take her in if we can't find an owner. jjmaccrimmon -at- gmail (dot) com or jjmaccrimmon -at- yahoo (dot) com Current Mood: anxiousCurrent Music: Jimmy Eat World - Polaris |

New to the area...
My wife and I just moved here a few weeks ago from Florida, and can't be happier. This place is beautiful, the people are all super friendly, and the economy seems to be untouched. Only problem is, we don't know anyone here and I don't think I can take 1 more day of sitting around my house... We need some friends! We're super cool, laid back, 420 friendly, we're into metal/screamo/hardcore, cars, beer, technology and a bunch of other rad shit. Any takers? Current Mood: boredCurrent Music: 36 Crazy Fists |

Oral Sugeons?
I searched back to the beginning of the year and didn't see anything about oral surgeons. I could have missed it though, so apologies if I did. I need to have at least one wisdom tooth out. I am going to require surgery for it as it pretty much just broke off to the gum line. I am terrified of pain. Anyone have experience with any of the ones in Huntsville? Good, bad, indifferent? This thing is killing me so any suggestions will be very helpful. I want this thing out of my head! |
