When you're the best of friends
Having so much fun together
You're not even aware, you're such a funny pair
You're the best of friends
Jaejoong giggled as Yunho tickled him, he crawled up and ran away. Yunho perused, both still laughing as they ran through the long green grass. The two children's laughter could be heard on the dancing wind, sounding like music to anyone who heard it. It was the sound of summer.
Jaejoong hid in the grass, waiting for Yunho to come running by. “Gotcha!” He yelled pouncing on his friend.
“Ah!” Yunho cried as they tumbled to the ground, his yell turning into laughter once again.
“I'm a lion. Rawr.” Jaejoong giggled.
“Then I'm a tiger.” Yunho replied.
“Best kitty friends.” Jaejoong smiled.
“And we'll always be best kitty friends.” Yunho said, sitting up, little Jaejoong still sitting on him.
“That's right.” Jaejoong replied, still smiling. That smile never seemed to come off. Yunho jumped up, pulling Jaejoong by the hand, “Come on, let's go to the treehouse.”
Again they began running through the field, heading towards the woods. Not so far away from the field they frolicked in, was their wonderland.
The big tree was covered in ivy. The longest limb holding up a little red swing. A wooden ladder led the way up to the treehouse. It wasn't the best well made, but they were only eight year olds after all. They climbed up the ladder, Yunho leading the way. They giggled as they tumbled into their secret hideout, wrestling in the big red blanket they kept there.
“Ha. Got you.” Jaejoong said proudly, sitting on top of Yunho.
“I let you.” Yunho retorted.
You could clown around forever
Neither one of you sees, your natural boundaries
Life's one happy game
“Nah-uh!” Jaejoong pouted.
“Yah-huh!” Yunho grinned, pushing Jaejoong down, switching their places.
They stared at each other for a moment. Yunho's copper hair falling into his eyes as he looked down on the raven haired boy.
“Get off, you're too big.” Jaejoong said, wriggling under the other.
Yunho sat down next to Jaejoong, their childish air returning. “The sun's going down.”
Jaejoong nodded, hoping the sunset would hide his blush.
“It's so pretty.” Yunho said, “Just like you.”
Jaejoong smiled at Yunho's words.
“You know, if you were a girl. I'd want to marry you.”
Jaejoong looked over at his friend, he didn't know what he was feeling. He was happy being near Yunho, as he always was, but this time he felt like he was going to burst with happiness.
He had never liked girls, they just didn't interest him. Was that normal?
“Yunho?” He asked.
“Hm?”
“Have you ever kissed anyone before?” Jaejoong asked, watching Yunho watch the sunset. Colors of red and pink and yellow were painting his face.
Yunho nodded, he glanced over at Jae, “Have you?”
Jaejoong shook his head, slightly embarrassed. Yunho smiled slightly, “Want me to teach you?”
“What?”
“For when you do kiss someone.” He explained like it made all the sense in the world, “I'll show you how to do it.”
Jaejoong nodded, trusting Yunho. Yunho smiled, “Close your eyes.”
Jaejoong did so, then he felt Yunho's lips on his own. It was a soft, sweet first kiss. Yunho pulled away, still smiling, “That's how you do it.” He stated.
Jaejoong stared at Yunho, not noticing his mouth was open, his lips formed a smile, “That was fun.”

Eight Years Later
“Come on.” Yunho whispered.
“I'm coming.” Jaejoong called back, equally quite. He climbed out of the window, sliding his body out of the frame. Yunho watched him from the ground, making sure he didn't slip on the roof. Jaejoong climbed down surprisingly well, without any clumsy mistakes that would have cost them.
When his feet touched the ground, he ran into Yunho's arms in a hug. They ran off away from the house, they're breath showing before their faces in puffs of steam. They ran through the dewy fields, holding hands as they ran. A secret song leading their way through the darkness.
They stopped in front of the big tree covered in ivy, a small red swing hanging by the biggest limb.
They smiled at each other and began climbing up the latter, Yunho holding out his hand for Jaejoong at the top. When they were both sitting in the house, they immediately joined lips in a passionate kiss. Jaejoong moaned as Yunho's warm hands touched his cold skin under his hoodie. He wrapped his arms around Yunho's neck as he lay back onto the wood floor. Yunho began kissing Jaejoong's white neck, loving each sound that came from Jaejoong's pink lips.
Jaejoong's fingers ran through Yunho's silky hair, holding him close in the cold.
“How long till your parents notice you're gone?” Yunho asked.
“Three hours.” Jaejoong replied into Yunho's shoulder.
“So let's make it a three hours to remember.” Yunho said with a smile, lightly kissing Jaejoong's lips.
They wrapped themselves in the big red blanket that they always kept there, using it for other reasons than they had planned when they were kids.
If only the world wouldn't get in the way
If only people would just let you play
They say you're both being fools
You're breaking all the rules
They can't understand, the magic of your wonderland
"I love him!" Jaejoong exclaimed, tears filling his eyes.
"No you don't." His mother replied, "You're only sixteen you don't know what love is."
"No son of mine-" His father began.
"Just because neither of you have ever experienced love doesn't mean I can't!” Jaejoong cried, streams of tears flooding his perfect face.
“Jaejoong, dear.” His mother tried to comfort him in her arms, “It's really nothing. It's all in your head.”
“No it isn't!” Jae snapped, pulling away from her embrace, “I love him.”
“That's enough.” His father said sternly, “You go right ahead and have your little gay fantasies of your friend, but don't you dare disobey my rules of this household.”
Jaejoong couldn't stop crying, he choked on his tears as his father talked, “I love him, why can't you understand that?” He sobbed.
“You'll get over it. You'll grow up and out of that teenage mind of yours.” His father said, ignoring Jae's sad words and his sad face, “If I have to keep you from him then-”
“You can't keep me from him!” Jaejoong said angrily.
“Oh can't I? Kim Jaejoong you're either going to wise up or you're going to find out exactly how far apart I can keep you two.”
Jaejoong cried harder in frustration, his chest hurting from the pain of his parent's ignorance, “You can't do this to me!” He choked, looking down as tears fell from his wet eyes, “You don't understand.” He broke down, his legs buckling under him, sending collapsing to the ground, “You just don't know what it's like.” He sobbed, covering his face with his hands. His father sighed in disgust and left the room.
“Honey, it's best if you just forget this.” His mother said, kneeling next to him, “Do you really think anything will come from it?”
Jaejoong looked up with his red puffy eyes, “He loves me.”
“Jaejoong, you're in high school. No one finds their love then. You're just too young.”
Jaejoong shook his head, “No. No, Yunho loves me. And I love him. It's always going to be that way, it always has been.”
It was her turn to shake her head, “Jaejoong, when you get out of high school, people lose contact. And it doesn't even matter, because you go on to new, better things.”
Jaejoong stared at her as she talked, his vision blurred from continuing tears, “I'm not just going to forget him.”
When you're the best of friends
Sharing all that you discover
When that moment has past, will that friendship last?
Yunho waited in the cold air, his breath becoming visible in little puffs. He had his hands jammed into his coat's pockets. He stared around, searching for Jaejoong. He looked up at the big tree, that wasn't so big anymore. The little house was their place to escape, but it had become so much more. It had been where Yunho first broke his arm, where Jaejoong had his first kiss, when Yunho first cried, Jaejoong's first time. Who would have imagined two kids would create such a love, because of a treehouse.
Yunho smiled brightly when he saw Jaejoong coming. The smile faltered slightly at the sad expression on the other's face. Yunho ran to him, “What is it?” He asked.
Jaejoong looked at the cold ground, tears fogging his eyes, “My parents are sending me away.”
Yunho's face turned white in horror, “No. They can't do that!” He exclaimed.
The tears in Jaejoong's eyes came falling down his face all over again at Yunho's words.
“You'll stay here. You'll live with me.” Yunho said, holding Jaejoong in his arms, “They can't separate us. They wont separate us.”
Jaejoong nuzzled his face into Yunho's shoulder, grateful for the warmth and love the other offered. Why couldn't they just understand. Why couldn't they understand how much they loved each other? It was so painfully obvious. It wasn't going to just be forgotten. It would last.
“I love you.” Jaejoong said, wrapping his arms around Yunho's neck.
“I love you.” Yunho said genuinely, leaning down to kiss his best friend, “Promise me something.”
“Anything.” Jaejoong answered, looking up with his big sad eyes.
“Promise me you'll come back. I'll wait for you.”
Jaejoong nodded, “I'll come back.”
“I'll wait right here.” Yunho whispered softly, pointing to the treehouse, “Then we'll play like we use to.”
Jaejoong stared crying again as he smiled at his friend, “I truly do love you.” He returned.
Yunho smiled back at him, "I couldn't love anyone else."A/N: Part 2 should be up very soon. I hope you enjoyed this. Thank you for reading.
