Well, I was at the library today and noticed the picture book section. This made me think - surely there were books written in the wizarding world about Harry Potter, right? Books that Ginny probably spent her childhood reading - along with many other young kids. Afterall, considering how little consideration is given to him from the press, I can easily imagine poor Harry having books written about the night his parents died. So then I thought, maybe I should make one? This is the result. Still working on it, but thought I'd share the first part of it. Title: The Tale of Harry Potter and the Defeat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (a picture book) Artist/Author: Rose Aislin Rating: G Summary: an attempt to create a picture book which may have been in circulation soon after October 31st, 1981. Timeframe: around 1981, I suppose (at least, that's when the characters in the book are depicted). Character/s: so far: Harry Potter, Lily Potter, James Potter, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (well, the dark mark - it *is* a children's book!), SIrius Black Warning/s: none. WIP: Yes. At least, I am planning on drawing/writing the rest of the picture book, so that it has a conclusion. This is just the first 7 pages or so. A/N: The image this picture links to is a gif. That means that it is animated and will change. I decided to do it like this rather than giving links to multiple pages. This way you can see each 'page' one after the other. Also, I have realised, after drawing this, that the images may look somewhat like the Potter Pals? Potter Puppets? (I'm not even sure of the name). That was not my intention. Rather, I was looking at a picture book today and how the people were drawn quite simply and tried to translate that into my own images for my picture book. Still, I cannot say that I have not been influenced by other work apart from the picture book I was looking at, even if it was not my intention, so may credit go where it is due.
