Our theme this week is: Spirits. It's a little early but wanted to post it now before I forgot what theme I had decided to use. ;)

Have fun!

And for anyone interested, sign-ups for the challenge at [info]chest_monsters are underway. Only two people have agreed to participate so far. We'll have to cancel it if we don't get a few more people willing to take part.

Title: Making Up for Lost Time
Words: 100
Rating: G

“Are you sure it's safe?”

“Of course I'm sure and the weather couldn't be more perfect. Muggle kids everywhere do this.”

“So?”

“It's like flying on the ground. Now get on. Or is the big bad Boy-Who-Saved-the-World too scared?”

That did it for him, as Ginny knew it would. Cautiously, he climbed aboard. Ginny showed Harry how to control the contraption. A good shove later, he was flying down the hill. His laughter warmed her.

Returning, he begged, “Can I go again?”

“Absolutely.”

That's it, Harry. Be the kid you never got to be.

Story Time

I have an idea for a second drabble, but it will take a while to get it to 100 words.

Posting early because tomorrow is looking CRAZY (even though I have the day off...how did that happen???).

My life for the past week has been revolving around checking next week's weather forecast (taking the family camping, really, really don't want it to rain), so the theme for the next week is Weather.

Make of it what you will. :)

Happy drabbling, everyone!

Title: Ginny's Revenge
Words: 100
Rating: G
A/N: I borrowed the idea of Ginny's revenge from an awesome story written by [info]cibjasfad , Learning To Fly. Very awesome story, if you haven't, you should read it. Hope she doesn't mind me borrowing it.

Ginny fumed. She paced. She huffed. She ranted then waved her wand in her brothers' directions. With grim satisfaction, she watched the faces of her twin brothers transform into something a bit more appropriate. She'd be forever grateful to Hermione for finding that spell.

“How could you? I've never been so humiliated in my life!”

Two, literally mulish, faces stared back apologetically. One opened its mouth and George's voice emerged.

“Sorry, sis. We thought you'd have found it funny.”

“You running starkers through any kind of gathering usually is hilarious but this time...it was my DREAM WEDDING!”

Title: NO! Just the Opposite! (thanks to[info]dukebrymin for the suggestion)
Words: 100
Rating: G
A/N: This kind of a continuation of 'Epiphany'. It's not necessary to read it first, however.

“You're staring again,” Hermione laughed.

“Oh, uh...I can't help it! It's like...the whole ugly duckling into the swan.”

“She was ugly before and now she's not?”

“NO! I didn't meant that! I meant...uh...that she...um...”

He searched desperately for an explanation.

“No, more like a caterpillar into a butterfly.”

“So, you're saying I used to bug you and now I don't?”

Eyes huge, Harry turned to Ginny. Flustered, he stumbled all over his words.

“No...no...I...uh...” Run.

Giggling at his retreat, Ginny felt her heart sing. He's finally noticed! Should I hug or hex him?

A/N: This is a little HBP movie drabble.

“Harry! Welcome back!”

Harry suddenly found himself engulfed in a hug by the youngest Weasley. She pulled away and he got a good look at her.

Oh...wow...she looks...wow...

He quickly found himself engulfed in another hug, this time from Hermione. She let him go and he was greeted by the rest of the Weasleys but his eyes kept straying to Ginny. He couldn't believe it. She'd transformed over the past year and he hadn't even noticed. But now...

“Sorry, what?”

But it was no use. Something in his chest had awakened. His eyes strayed to Ginny.

She looks...good.

Well, here's a banner. Not sure if it's going to be THE banner. I may tweak the timing sequence, add a bit more of something here or there. I wanted to use something from every year but I just couldn't find ANYTHING from POA that I could use. I'll keep looking and maybe get lucky.

I decided to go ahead and post the new theme for this week. I couldn't decide which version of the word to use so I'm letting you all decide in your drabbles.

Transform or Transformation

Thanks for all the help and advice given in setting up the new color scheme and to Kathy for giving me the idea for the prompt. I was looking for inspiration.

Happy drabbling and can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Okay, I REALLY think I'm done for now. Unless of course someone pops in and says 'YUCK!' Then I'll be here and continue to tweak things. I'm going to work on the banner awhile. Someone thanked me for asking for everyone's input on this. Don't. This is everyone's comm and I want everyone to feel okay with it, if not actually happy.

I never realized how difficult it would be to get all the colors just right. I need to take some interior designing courses ;)

15 November 2009 @ 02:00 pm
Well, I wasn't really wanting monochromatic but it kind of ended up that way anyway. Maybe the banner can bring in a splash of color. I think I'll stop fiddling with the colors for now. If everyone is happy with this I'll leave it, though.
