Luna balances her small hands with longer-than-average nails. Each is carefully filed - the muggle way, for precision - to a rounded point. Luna has always found that muggles know far more about nail care than wizards. When Nott buys a bottle of navy blue polish for her birthday she is grateful. They sit cross-legged on the greenest grass at the edge of the lake, and Nott paints each nail carefully. His hand is much larger than hers, and he is surprisingly adept at applying nail polish. Luna grins for him as she waits for her nails to dry.

Ginny loved Hogsmead. The first time, her mother had taken her to pick up Charlie and Bill straight from Hogwarts, and the four of them had gone to the Three Broomsticks as a treat for Bill’s being a responsible prefect. She had been five, and so only remembered large seats. Everything else she could remember seemed greatly out of proportion when she went the second time, at age eight. This time the whole family went to see Bill before he left for Egypt. Bill wore leather, and Ginny held his hand. After his death, she returned to make new memories.

4. Act like he enjoyed Hogsmeade, even if he’d been there many times before with the Marauder’s Map and an invisibility cloak.

5. Owl Lily to tell her horror stories about Hogwarts – how Slytherins were evil towards everything that moved, how the Defense against the Dark Arts teacher secretly was a vampire and how Albus no friends had. It was her turn now, after all.
