Please use this template to enter your favourite quotes and passages:

Journal Entry Subject: Should include the title of the fic and the author's name. You can also include the name of the character being quoted.
Fic Title: Please include link if possible
Author: Please include link to author's LJ or homepage if possible
Rating: Provide rating, if known; Please put any quote that is R, M, NC-17 or X behind an LJ-cut.
Comments: Additional relevant information, such as:
- who made the quote and to whom ("Dumbledore to Harry", for example)
- the pairing
- context (please warn and cut for spoilers)
- completed work or a one-shot
- chapter number quote appears in

Posting Guidelines
1. Only one quote per entry, please. This will make searching the community database easier. For example, if you want to share three quotes from the same fic, please make three separate entries.

2. Do not quote entire fics or exceedingly long passages from fics. See below for more details about what counts as a quote.

3. Tag your entries. This will make quotes more easily searchable and help us avoid duplicate entries. Tags can be added to an entry or edited in three easy steps:

     a. After entering your quote, click on 'Edit this entry's tags' or on the 'Tag' icon.
     b. Use the alt or apple key on your keyboard to select multiple tags for your quote.
     c. Click on 'Save changes'.

All entries must contain the following tags:
author's name
fic title
rating
character(s) or pairing(s)
status ('completed fic' or 'one-shot'; no status indicator implies WIP)

Please check the list of existing tags before adding new ones; duplicate tags can make searching the comm difficult. More about tags

4. Keep the community worksafe! Put any explicit R, M (Mature), NC-17 or X quotes, such as those containing graphic language, graphic violence or graphic sexual imagery, behind an LJ-cut. How to cut

5. If you are underage, please do not post or access material that you are, under law, not supposed to be accessing.

6. Please put spoilers behind an LJ cut and include a warning in your comments.

7. Play nicely. All genres, ratings, pairings, etc. are welcome here. Flaming others for sharing what they like will not be tolerated. If you don't like it, don't read it. Better yet, show us what you do like. :)

What counts as a quote?

For the purposes of this community, a quote is any succinct excerpt from a published work of fanfiction set in the Harry Potter universe.

A quote may be:
- one or two or even a few succinct lines spoken by a single character
- a brief exchange of dialogue between two or more characters
- a brief narrative passage
- a brief excerpt combining dialogue and narrative

As a loose rule, a quote should usually be no more than 200 words.
