Harry Potter Riddles Community

i'm using some of these for my 'floor pub crawl' in Australia, Melbourne-glenn college.Thanks guys!!!!

A riddle, which does have rhythm to it and some bad rhyming if you read it aloud. There's also more than one direction of clues.

We could throw away time
In entropic amusements which
Though not our full power
Have their enticements.

Can you know us?
Have you seen us?
And could you know it if you had?
Now the change and now the mask
Go on passing to the past
Everyday we're new to you, but you remain.

We have limits beyond your ken and
In our magic now and then
Zings power which no one else can harness.
As the Ministry does track us
Routine e'er as they "must"
Down some dip into rebellion
Sans the shame.

Okay, I feel a bit awkward because I LITERALLY just joined this thread, but just from reading old posts I want to see it resurrected, so I'm posting a riddle. It's not a rhymed riddle, but it makes great use of punning (that's your hint) and you'll have the best luck if you're up on your trivia from books 3-5. I don't think it's that great, but it's all I've got (I think it gets easier with each new stanza, so try solving from stanza one and if you need more hints progress through each one). Here goes:


Masks I wear many,
But not many see behind them.
Always rejected
Except by those dark as the one I despise.

I hate and I fear One of whom I will not speak
Yet I throw myself continually at his feet.
I am continual.
When all other hope is gone, I remain.

Those I defend I do not love,
And those I fight I cannot hate.
The one who hates me most
Is the one I will die to protect.

WHO AM I?

The community hasn't been active in a year. I'm thinking about deleting it.

Thoughts?

Bifocals rest on the bridge of her nose,
rose is the color of fingers and toes
I suppose, as her fingernails are red
but red hair is not on top of her head.

Okay, I know it's been FOREVER since a riddle was last posted, so here goes [because I know I got the last one, I've just been super busy.]




This class at Hogwarts is not quite popular
The teacher, in fact, almost had to leave
Very rarely do students excel at this subject
Of seeing and interpreting things that may be cloudy.

The teacher, you ask, can fake through the subject
Often luckily guessing the student's fate
But when it comes to Harry Potter
Teach's prediction opened the gate.

When Teacher One was let go
Teacher Two came from the forest
He taught of things like stars and planets
Was he a human? Surely you jest.

This class, an elective
Chosen by third years rare
Should open the door to the few
Who want to know how they will fare.

What subject am I?

At the same time I am sweet,
Some of my friends are bitter,
But people them do eat.

My name constists of two words,
With a hyphen inbetween,
One part is food for owl-birds,
The other one is cold, if you know what I mean.

I really don't want to see this die, it is a pretty cool idea..

After solving Alex's mind blowing and sweat inducing riddle, I wrote my own Tom Riddle! YAY! Note that it is far to easy, but I'm crap at these things anyway, so... yeah. Ahem.

A boy, sweaty and breathing hard
came to me one day
asked what was to do to be unbarred
and he knows it, 'till today.

I like the things you write down here
though mine are quite a bit harder
and when you stand near me dear,
think, or I will, like so many times before, come away with murder.

I am most fearsome and maybe funny looking
but never judge on what you see
for if you don't watch were you're joking
you might just see me.

I guarded a great big city once
but died when someone special came
allthough this verse is not Hp related
you can still guess my name

What creature am I?

I solved zebbi356's riddle, so off I went to do my own. Here's what became of the riddle I was doing when I supposed to be doing my English essay.

Gossiping in the local bar,
I doubt that I’ll go very far,
Unwittingly involved in one of the Wizarding World’s greatest scandals,
I spent that night drinking,
In dingy pubs lit by candles.

I helped spin the thread of an urban tale,
Monstrously out of scale,
To and unfathomable net where truth and fiction,
Cannot be revealed by any mere man’s revelation.

I am no chef nor public servant,
My positions changed once,
But now are adamant.

I never needed an alibi,

Who am I?

I answered Pertique's brain frying riddle, so I'm going to post one now. It's much easier than hers.

Looks can be deceiving,
And they certainly were with me.

Betrayal and lying,
People dying,
Makes no difference to me.

I'd do anything to help him get that wretched boy.
That would make my master's empty heart fill up with bubbling joy.

Much in common I have with him,
We killed the people we "loved" or not.

I disguised myself for this man,
I'm doing everything I can.

For years and years I endured it all

Anyway, I'm glad to see several of y'all joining, and the riddles will flow - feel free to start a riddle, I'm totally cool with that. A lot of this will be trial and error, so we'll see how it goes.
