8:24 am [mods_wp]	Waking Pandora! Waking Pandora is a combination RP game that mixes the 'what if' of the History Channel show Life After People with the Harry Potter universe in a unique way. In the Year 2000, a group of Muggles became aware of the Wizarding community and felt they were a threat to humanity. They worked in secret to create a deadly virus that would target anyone with magical blood but it backfired. The virus began spreading indiscriminately – Muggles and Magicals began dying in vast numbers from the disease whose only outward sign is the appearance of red spots on the victim's body. Within 48 hours, anyone infected died of a cerebral brain hemorrhage. When the consequences became apparent, both sides rushed to isolate the virus but it was too late. Mass transport carried the virus to the corners of the planet slowly but surely as infected fled under the cover of darkness, only to spread the disease further. The first of the stasis chambers was readied two weeks after the first outbreak, Muggles working feverishly to set up solar-powered cryogenic rooms and the Wizarding world did the same – using spells engendered to last over long periods of time. Neither side was hostile in their agreements to leave means for the human race to survive, both sides choosing small numbers of young, strong, genetically diverse and a minor handful of older, more knowledgeable members of their societies in every country. The hope that most of these chambers might hold out against the tide of decay was the push that drove the scientists and wizards to the very end. One hundred years after the chambers were sealed, the first opens, then another and another. One alcove of wizards and witches are waking inside the tomb of the Hogwarts castle, in the former Room of Requirement, to find the world has returned to the beasts, the castle is a veritable jungle and the world they knew no longer exists. Equipped with only rudimentary survival gear, they must find a way to not only survive but contact the other stasis chambers in a bid to restart humanity. While we all hope for peace it shouldn't be peace at any cost but peace based on principle, on justice.” ~Corazon Aquino “Reconciliation is to understand both sides; to go to one side and describe the suffering being endured by the other side, and then go to the other side and describe the suffering being endured by the first side.” ~Thich Naht Hanh Minister of Magic Tiberius Ogden is working to promote the health and well-being of all living things, including both Muggleborn and Pureblooded witches and wizards, as well as elves, goblins, and other magical species. With Mafalda Hopkirk in Azkaban for the foreseeable future, her son is attempting to nurse his fiancee back to health after having been cursed unforgivably by his mother. Hermione Granger has just moved in with her boyfriend, Draco Malfoy, even though her friends and his family weren't too keen on their relationship from the beginning. George and the rest of the Weasleys are still dealing with a lot of mixed feelings regarding the death of Fred and try to support each other through it all. Theo has just discovered that his sister was fathered by another man and is dealing with the fact that his father killed his mother in revenge. The Brothers Lestrange have all kinds of evil plans in the works, including smuggling a werewolf army from France to England. Roger has been doing research into the limits of Transfiguration with genetic makeup as he progresses is his apprenticeship. Melinda is still trying to find her place after being disowned by her family for starting a band with Tracey, Susan, Mandy and Josh. post_bellum is a Post-War, Post-Deathly Hallows, non-Epilogue compliant Harry Potter Role-Playing Game. Voldemort and his followers are on the rise, leaving behind a reign of terror in their wake. As Voldemort’s supporters increase and more Wizards are murdered or go missing, Wizards and Witches begin to grow even more uneasy and terrified, and an increasing number choose to fall prey to his Empire, out of fear for their lives, unwilling to stand up and fight. 8:30 am [bp_mods]	New Future Gen HP Game Underway Breaking Point RPG - Breaking Point OOC Cast & Characters - Application - Rules Summer 2024 at Hogwarts. Headmaster Filius Flitwick has just passed away. Minister of Magic Narcissa Malfoy has nominated her daughter-in-law, Board of Governors member Astoria Malfoy, for the position, but the professors of Hogwarts have another idea in mind: their very own Herbology Professor Neville Longbottom. Philosophies heat up through the summer months and before we know it the students - including 6th year Lily Luna Potter and 5th year Libra Malfoy - will be returning. Surprisingly enough - they're not the only ones. September first, the feast has been a success, the students are heading back to their dorms, and a bump is heard in the night. The seventh floor corridor is in sudden chaos - someone from another time has just stumbled out of a fireplace holding a blue fire. As Aurors roam the halls of Hogwarts and our heroes of the Second War try to solve the puzzle of the blue fireplace, more mysteries are around every corner. Why are the dead returning? The magical world changed faster, and in more ways, than any witch or wizard could have expected. After a series of investigative reports by the Daily Prophet's Josiah Hurwitz were published, the Ministry of Magic, headed by Kingsley Shacklebolt, came under intense scrutiny. Mr. Hurwitz's investigation revealed past misdeeds and current corruptions that the public could not readily forgive. With few options available to them, the public turned to the one wizard they could count on ---Lucius Malfoy. ____...goin' ching-a-ling-a-ling... Though plagued with a checkered past of his own, Malfoy's image was successfully rehabilitated through his honesty and charitable acts. He provided the wizarding world with a sound mind and a voice reason during one of its most trying political times. When people were whispering about a violent revolution, Malfoy was undeterred and unafraid to raise his voice about peace and harmony in the magical world. His message caught on and the violent whispers soon turned into easy silence. ____...don't hand me no lines... Shacklebolt was ousted from his position. At the public's urging, Lucius Malfoy was named Minister for Magic. Two controversial moves clearly differentiated the Malfoy-run Ministry from that of Shacklebolt. First, several key Ministry workers were relieved of their duties in effort to start with an entirely clean slate. Hermione Granger and Harry Potter, among others, were safe in their positions. Second, the Department of Aurors was severely downsized. In his "Time of Peace" promises, Malfoy sought to redirect substantial funds from needless defense expenses to more worthy and needing Ministry departments. Fearing corruption within the magical justice system, Malfoy has recently ordered re-trials of several prominent witches and wizards locked away in Azkaban. _____...and keep your hands to yourself. Hogwarts Returns is an original character driven roleplay thats been going strong for over a year. We allow all players to create their own sub-plots and participate in others as well as allowing them to get in on any site-wide overarching plot we may have going. We always have room for student characters as well as adults to fill the world we have shaped from J.K. Rowling's own.
