Our unofficial "Manips Stolen Reporter" [info]chiffanichan suggested me to make a post to keep track of all the websites that steal manips of some members of [info]hp_manips and a link to this post will be in the Profile. Adding your username on the manips don't even seem to help, they're not ashamed post them anyway...

» What You Can Do About It :
- E-Mail the Webmaster with the links of your manips on the site, asking to remove them or at least giving you proper Credit. Do it often if you have to, they'll hopefully take your work off when they'll get many protest.
- Some site doesn't have E-Mail, but have a place to send manips, so you can send them one of your manip(or a collage of all your stolen manips) with text on it, explaining that you made them and you want them off their site.
- You can also make your post Friend Locked on your LJ, but post them here too, cause people probably won't want to friend you just to see your manips posts.

Tell me if you find other places that steal manips or if you have another suggestion to stop people from stealing our work. If you know the username of some members of this community that steals, just tell me, they'll be banned.

You can simply Track the Comments on this post to stay updated.

hey listen! harrylatino.com is a gallery created by fans, the graphics in there are putted there by the same fans, registrated fans who have your jobs because they liked them, so they wanted to put the manips in the gallery to share it... really i visited the website so many times, and if you go to 'reuniones pottericas' you will know a lot of fans in fanmeetings, and i'm there... the people who submit your jobs there have done it because they believed that they were cool, they have not done it with the intention of stealing the images or to give them their own credit for the same ones.

sorry for my horrible english, if someone here speaks spanish, it would be much easier to explain it.

Those fans might be doing it with the best intentions, the members of [info]hp_manips are not happy about it, really not. They consider it stealing, since Credit is not done and some of their manips even has tags that they did not put on the manips, that credit someone else or another website.

Some fans even use their work to make icons, headers & wallpapers and take all the Credit for it. I really don't think it's nice, since manips are unique and is time consuming, no one else will make the same.

I just hope you could at least make your members Credit the makers, or only accept manips made by the fan that upload them. Here on [info]hp_manips we only allow manips posted by the maker, not posts of manips found anywhere on the net.

I understood what you said, I also speak/write "basic english" since I'm a French Canandian.

i really understand the manip makers, i had had problems like this with my work in other latin sites... whatever, sometimes the people who post the images are kids, children between 10 and 13 years old, and they didn't understand the 'credit part', you know

i think you should communicate with harrylatino webmasters and told them about this problem, they can make this better, i know they can

by the way, if you look in the 'fanarts' section, there are a lot of fanarts posted from deviantart drawers, and some people credit them

just communicate with the webmasters and give them the advice, they can answer you well :)

"My members" are probably already contacting the webmasters of all 3 websites. I just hope it's gonna be solved without too many troubbles...

Alot of 13 year olds make manips some I know most of them know the rules, but not only did they steal them, they cut off our tags, and edit our h/hr manip or r/hr or the other way around, and you HAVE to know that it obviously wrong.

I already email them, and if the don't answer I'll email agian & agian until they do something.

i really don't know that they cut off things, or change it... if they don't answer you, message me, i can give you the e-mail for one of the webmasters... he's not always online, but maybe he can help it..
but now, we just have to wait until they do something right u_u i hope so...

None of my work was stolen, to my knowledge, however i've e-mailed them on behalf of others. I noticed even in the 'fanart section' there were many other works that clearly should not be there, many by people who i know.

I e-mailed because as an artist,i get upset when this happens. Its just not right, nor legal to just take someones work. It really makes me want to take down all of my work at my Deviantart. Or put tags all over them, which would just ruin them!

I search agian using 'fakes' because if manips came up their would be videos that came up with fakes.

(she has alot so I would be superrized if something was stolen in all on them.)

I saw it briefly on this facebook group and I remembered seeing it somewhere and I'm sure it was here since this is the only hp manip community I have friended.

Damn, I saw some of mine in the last one... I know that some of my past manips were not perfect, my computer screen was old and too dark, with my new and bright one, I can see the flaws, but before they looked perfect to me. lol Maybe we should consider locking our posts on [info]hp_manips so they won't be able to see/link them if they're not members. Anyway, thanks for the info.

It doesn't have to bad for it to show up on that site, the funny thing is that they put my good manips and not my bad ones on there. lol. I'd hate for it to come to that but you know. Like the members at that site could actually make anything good themselves.

She still says that she didn't steal my manip, all she did was change the colors, add bangs and a new face on ron and colorize the hair red. If you look at the outline of harry's hair/rons it's the same. The background is blurred, on the leftside on her 'manip' it has blur that's where my texts was. And it looks like the background I put on my manip expect it blurred. (exactly why I put it there. Then Harmione is the same expect she clones the hair alittle to make it look different.

Well, you didn't tell me about it at that time, cause I would have done something. It's obvious that she stole yours. And I saw that she kept saying that she would credit you, but she never did.

I can do 2 things: I can warn her to not do it again or she'll be banned, unless she kept steeling manips (do you know if she did it another time?) I would ban her right now, but I'll of course delete the post no matter what I do. Is that OK for you ?

I'm not sure what you want to do with this but it was posted here recently, and the 2nd/3rd manip on the post has someone else's manipulation in it. I've seen that manipulation everywhere, I think it's one of those everyone's seen it but no one knows who's it is.

Yes, I even know made that manip and I look every post, so I would have taken care of it the second I would have seen it. That manip is often used by other members, cause they usually think it's a real picture. lol

Ok. And I clicked all the links that were here on this post and 3 people removed the manips on their site or deleted the video on their YouTube account, I guess it's a good news.
