For those of us who love the world of Harry Potter fanfiction,

hp_fest provides a place for you to submit prompts and then claim and write on them, all for Harry Potter!

How does the fest work?

Here are the details on just how a fanfiction fest works:
1. Join the community and read the rules (of course).
2. Submit prompt ideas to this post. Prompt ideas can range from “Harry and Ginny’s wedding” to “Severus Snape as a boy during Christmas.” There will be three sections that the prompts will be divided into: Individual character prompts, Het ship prompts and Slash ship prompts. When we have a descent amount of prompts, the claiming period will start.
3. Members can claim prompts from a long list that will be posted from everyone’s submissions. Claiming a prompt means that you would like to write a fic (minimum of 500 words) on that prompt.
4. After the claiming period ends, the writing period will start where claims will be written and then eventually submitted during the posting period. At this point, everyone gets to read what you’ve written!

Important Dates

Prompt Submission: Until February 1st
Claiming Period/Writing Period: February 1st- March 15th
Posting Period: March 8th- March 22nd
